Ok I have a friend who is almost like a brother. We are really close. People are saying that we are going out, or what up between you and Matt? I HATE this. It is the second time within a year that I've had to put up with crap that that. He's only my friend for Gods sake. Why do people automatically think that if a guy and a girl are friends they are dating? What should I say to people when they insist that I like him and he likes me?

Sorry darlin', but men and women can never be friends because the sex part gets in the way. If you haven't seen it, rent "When Harry Met Sally" ASAP.
Most people can't believe that you're just friends because that kind of relationship is so rare. I'm not saying impossible, just improbable. Eventually one of you or both of you will want to be more than just friends. Why wouldn't you want to be in a relationship with your best friend?
As for the other folks that are annoying you with their opinions: just ingore them. Life's too short to care what other people think. Tell them "Nun-ya"... aka None ya business.

Because it's not really normal to have boy "friends" when you are a girl. Usually you would have girl friends. Especially at your age. A lot of times it's an easy way to spend time with a boy if you call him "just a friend". It 's also easier on the parents if they think your boy friend is "just a friend". So you can add me to the people who think there might be something else keeping you guys "as friends". Best Answer? :)

If you are honestly sure that he is only a friend and can only be a friend, then the best way to communicate is that "he is like a brother to me."
Unfortunately, older folks like myself know all too well that those boy/girl "friends" at some point in time have exceeded the threshold.

there isn't much you can say. You can insist that you ARE NOT dating and chances are, they'll insist that you ARE. Maybe get a boyfriend besides Matt and people won't say you and Matt are going out

i used to have the same problem. keep on denying that you too are going out, because people will eventually get the idea. i know that it is a pain to deal with, but it stops eventually. it stopped for me because i never see my guy friend anymore (because we have different teachers) and one of my other guy friends asked me out, so now i have a boyfriend.
just keep telling the truth, and it will stop eventually. if people will not listen, just walk away from them.

people can be really stupid and imature just for the hell of it. for those that think men and women can't be in a platonic relationships with each other need to grow up and get overthemselves. it's really none of their business and that's all you have to say. this is your life and you don't have to explain yourself and your relationships to anyone.

Dont say like Shutup because thats probably y they say that to you you deny it,and thats a sign that you are dating,so be like No were just friends with a smile.
act like you dont care what they are saying and be all cool about it.
