personally i wouldnt bother.

its not a chip its a reisistor worth about 10 pence.

it fits on the MAF sensor (mass airflow) on the air intake, it works by causing resistance which in turn tricks the cars ECU into thinking the engines getting too much air, in turn the ECU compensates by letting more fuel out.

these "chips" cause massive overfueling and not only may you cause engine damage but your fuel economy will suffer.

plus the performance increase is minimal, if anything.

if you want a chip, spend £250 (a lot i know) on a "bluefin" these are good quality and actually flash your ECU for better peformance. see www.bluefin.co.uk

in response to "fwh" a bluefin chip will be hard pusehd to give your car any more than 6 bhp on a NA engine of 15 on a turbo, thats not gonna affect your tyres, brakes etc. you get more engine response and less lag on pick up but thats about it. plus it doesnt affect your warrenty!

You need to confirm your insurance company will support any changes you may wish to make. If they agree then the premium will increase dramatically. They may also insist that the vehicle is inspected after modification to confirm that any changes made have been done in a professional manner and are not dangerous.

Before you carry out any performance related modifications you need to consider if the vehicle is capable of supporting them. Cars are built to a specification for each variant.

Tyres are speed rated. You may need to change them.

Braking systems are designed to handle loads - changing the performance may mean upgrading the braking system.

Fitting your own bits and pieces might increase performance but could also cause damage to the engine.

give it back that chip will only make your engine run rich. You won't gain any power from that chip. All the chip does is trick you computer into thinking that the engine is running lean so the computer will make the injectors put more fuel into the engine making it run rich. RICH ENGINE = LESS POWER.
You can't just put in more fuel with out putting in more air. you will be able to tell by the black soot that will cover your rear bumper. You may also ruin your catalytic converter. Next time do more research before you wast your money.

I have Bluefin fitted on my Ford Fiesta Zetac S. This has transformed the performance of the car. Boy racers come alongside or behind me and suddenly realise that the "Only a Fiesta" in front is really a wolf in sheep's clothing. Best £300 I have spent on a long time.
