WHY would god do that, as he knows/knew that this would lead to so much mass-murder, injustice, misery, and pain? What should we make of someone (something) who creates or allows evil when he has the power to prevent it?

The real answer is that no benevolent god would allow such things to happen. So we either have some kind of an evil god, or there is no god at all.

Most drugs that are abused, also have some good applications when used wisely. For instance, in the olden days (Britain), women used to take Belladonna (deadly nightshade) to make their pupils dilate and their cheeks look rosy. It made them look more beautiful.... but it eventually sent them compeltely crazy.

However, Belladonna, in homoeopathic form, is an excellent treatment for very high fevers and delerium.

God wants us to learn and exercise wisdom. That's why he gave us so many options, in regards to plant life on earth.
