It's not a sin. Moses himself married a black woman (a Kushite)

As you may know, it is currently illegal in most states for homosexuals to marry and an overwhelming amount of support comes from the Bible stating that homosexuality is sin. You may find it interesting to know that some time back, this exact same issue was true of interracial marriage (marrying a different race). At the time in which interracial marriage was illegal in most states, the same arguments were being made against it my religious conservatives. They did, in fact, use the Bible as their backing to support that interracial marriage was a sin. As you also know now, interracial marriage is legal. This is most likely not because the Bible does not say it is a sin but because a law cannot be based solely upon the Bible decree that it is wrong.

What I am getting at is that you will come across so many religious conservatives will tell you that what you are doing is wrong, just as homosexuals are dealing with today. However times have changed and interracial marriage has become more widely accepted. As to whether or not it is a sin, I do not know of any scripture that states that it is but either way, I think you should do what makes you happy regardless of the opinions of others as long as you are in a good, healthy relationship.

Supergirl,
There is nothing in the Bible that says it is wrong. There are some in our society who are against it but they are slowly being calmed in their hatred toward others. I believe that if you live in an area where children are made fun of by others because of their mixed race then you should probably find another area to live in prior to the children's birth. They are very important and need to be accepted by others to have a good social development. Have a great week!
Thanks,
Eds

EDIT:
RxQueen,
Your language is a bit rude and the Bible does not say that our women may not wear dresses or that a Christian may not work on Sunday. These are not at all true. I would be glad to study the Bible with you at ant time. Things will get better in time. Evidentally you have found the right man. Your note rather cleared up things. I thought that you sounded rather CRUDE and RUDE and I did not ever remember you being that way before. I take back at least a portion of what I said. The BIBLE still does NOT say that our women may not wear dresses or that a Christian may not work on Sunday. Have a great day and a wonderful week.

Jason,
I realize that your parents did not ever tell you what was right and wrong but your use of language is somewhat questionable also. Remember there are some of us who believe in GOD, the FATHER... even if you do not.

Thanks,
Eds

There is no mention in the bible about it being a sin to marry someone of a different race.

No, it is not a sin, but many sins have been committed because of those racist thoughts though. Many people around the world have been slaughtered simply because they looked somewhat different from the majority. Did you see the movie "Hotel Rwanda?" Did you notice that the only feature separating the two peoples were the "width of their nose." Europeans imposed that difference on them.

Right now another genocide is occurring in Darfur, Sudan. I challenge you to do some research to find out why one group of people is slaughtering another group of people from the same area.

No, its not a sin to marry someone of the other race. When it comes to marriage, God is primarily concerned with your spiritual life - not with the color of skin.

Continuously throughout the Bible, in the Old Testament and New, God instructs that His people marry only believers. In the OT, Jews who married non-Jews introducted different religions into their culture, leading the people astray. In the NT, Paul says that we should marry other believers. We are also told not to become to close to nonbelievers - all of this because we are easily swayed, and its likely that we'll drift away from God on account of these relationships.

So if He is a believer, you love each other and you believe God wants you to be married, what else is there to question?

Absolutely not. We all came from one man and one woman and who knows what color they were exactly. We are all human and race is just something that men made up. Not all white people are exactly the same color, you have very dark-skinned ones and really light ones. The same with black people. We are all blended with a little of all different colors and all our bodies are the same in every other way. We all have the same blood and same organs inside. We are not different species because if we were we could not make babies with each other. Cats and dogs can't have babies together, but people can.

Moses's sister was being racist against his wife because she was a darker-skinned Arabic woman and God gave her leprosy for it. Some people are against people of different colors being together but they are totally blind to the fact that we are all the same.

No, as a matter of fact the book Song of Solomon (in the Old Testament) is about an intimate relationship between people of two different races.

I've answered this same Q @ Y/A not to long ago.

It was really long, but, really informative. It was some1 else's Q about the human race thru Noah's sons.

The fact that we can marry & reproduce SHOWS
we r of the same race...the HUMAN RACE.
No Sin.
Now, if he had stripes, polka dots,zig-zags u'd have every right to be concerned. Is he from another planet? No, then U R of the same race...HUMAN

No, honey, it is not a sin. Don't ever let anything so foolish as that come between you and TRUE love. The only sin would be to marry someone just because of their race and not for love.

Heavens NO! If that's so think about the number of people who have moved to other countries because of jobs, work and vacation. What are they not allowed to sexual relations with other around them. That is crazy to think that this hasn't gone on for hundreds of years. Marry someone you love and you want to spend the rest of your life with not a couple of years. All americans have come from another country at sometime. We all are racially mixed! God love the world and diverse people in it!
