012.103 And most of mankind will not believe though you desire it eagerly (QURAN)

I am asking a real question here,is it because most people are evil?,or because they don't use their brains?

I guess its just because Islam is a relatively new religion and has not had the chance to spread beyond the Middle East and Asia. People say, like the Quran says, that "These are just ancient fables, there is no god or anything like him" they think that there is nothing beyond that which they already know.

Others think that converting religions is a VERY big deal, which it is, im not downplaying that, but they think that its so big of a deal that they would be better off not to do it and stick with what they already believe.

not to mention that most western nations are secularized and therefore do not teach much about religion in school. I live in the US and have never known anything about Islam before I had actually started researching it on my own.

I dont think most people are evil, just ignorant and closed minded. They dont think that thier way of thinking and worshipping could be completely wrong, if at all.

With regard to the use of brains, we christians would tend to think that Mohammedans don't use theirs enough, as not enough are considering the claims of Christ.

They just accept what they are told, maybe slightly frightened if they investigate anything else because of Koran that says its is blessed to kill an apostate and the Sharia law apostasy law, where Sharia is in full operation.

In culturally christian countries, only a proportion find christian faith, and this was predicted in advance by Jesus. There are various reasons.
1) Human sin; people have to admit they have done wrong when they repent and believe in Jesus (John 3:19-21)
2) Human pride; people don't like to admit they have need of God. The admission that one needs God one has to make in the christian faith is much more significant than in Mohameddan faith.
3) Having to go against the crowd
People are pretty tribal, and like to feel accepted, even if general attitudes are moronic, they love feeling accepted. To be identified with Christ involves some disapproval at least; in some countries serious persecution.
4) Th existence of a supernatural order of beings (fallen angels and demons) that people are 99% not aware of. These demons put thoughts of opposition to the gospel in people's minds in subtle ways.
5) The Church can at times drift into legalism and can fail to use the supernatural help of the Holy Spirit for evangelism.

let me ask you all a question... How many languages do you speak ??? if you spoke more then one im sure you would realize how difficult it is while translating to be able to convey the exact same message the original language intended.

the quran was originally written in arabic. lots of arabic words have several meanings which can not be replaced by a single english word. this leaves lots of room for misinterpretation by translators as well as readers.

one more point that i would like to make. im a language and culture student. i know for a fact that the quran had not been written down on script untill after muhammad had died. while he was preaching, the teachings of the quran was passed on by word of mouth.

when you were in kindergarten, did you ever play that game where you sit in a circle with a bunch of people and then whisper a sentence to the person next to you; that person then whispers the same thing to the next person and so on; and by the time you get to the last person, the sentence has no resemblance whatsoever to the original.

my point is, when the quran was finally written down by different scholars and priests many different versions of it had appeared. the king at that time (i cant remember his exact name but ill look it up and get back to you) had ordered all the different versions of the quran to be brought in front of him; from which he chose ONE that HE liked and ordered all the rest to be burned.

im sure a lot of people have trouble agreeing with SOME of the teachings of the quran. but if the quran that we read today is NOT the exact words of god, i would not be surprised.

and just because not everyone calls their god "Allah" does not mean they are nonbelievers! they just believe differently!

Islam is going through a revolution.
When it is done, it will embrace freedom.
It will overthrow it's dictators.
It will embrace the west as allies, not enemies.
Free speech will be everywhere.
Religious tolerance will be normal.
There will be many who won't believe, but Islam will still blossom, as it enters the 21st century and becomes a center of art, science, and philosophy once more.

I pray it survives the effort.

thanks. im a stupid villian.

because muhammad came after jesus. jesus had already came and taught the word of God, and then muhammad, even if he meant well, came in and screwed it up. God doesn't have a name. God is too powerful to name himself. God is God. Not allah, but The God, our Father. He doesn't go by our ways.

In history, he pretty much did some soul searching to find the real God, and then came and said it was God, the god of christians, and jews. But he took out the parts of the bible that he didn't agree with, and gathered all the rest into your Quran. The Bible states many times the same as 012.103

Jihadists today invoke the Quran to justify the worst terrorist crimes. Throat slitting of infidels is mentioned in the Quran. Al-Mawardi (d. 1058), the prominent 11th century jurist quoted this verse, specifically, « When you encounter those who deny (the Truth) then strike (their) necks. » (Quran 47 :4), in his learned discussion of jihad. This ritual execution is also mentioned in other Muslim legal texts and in narratives of Christian and prominent Muslim historians. Today it is performed against infidels and recorded on videotape for the edification of Muslim audiences.

When the average pious Muslim reads a verse like 2:132 (“And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; ‘Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam’”) or 3:67 (“Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah’ (which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah”), he understands what so many imams tell him: that the true Jews and Christians of today are the Muslims, and the people who go by those names are renegades and rebels against God.

This is of course nonsense.

There's that and also the Prophet (SAW) said that among Christianity there would be 71 divisions, among the Jews there would be 72, and among Islam there would be 73, all but one of which will burn in Hell. The only "sect" to be rewarded with eternal Paradise will be the one who follows the Qur'an as the Word of Allah.

I think its just plain rebellion. The attitude of "You're not the boss of me." We always have someone in authority over us.

But since God knows everything, He knows who will accept and who will not, thus the statement Jesus made "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is that way that leads to destruction. And there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matt 7:14
