I signed up for IPF (International Pen Friends) for my birthday. I really wanted to have a foreign pen friend to exchange letters with, it sounded fun. Well, shame on me, I didn't read everything right, and I thought what would happen is that they would send me someone's address and send them mine, and we'd be set. What actually happens is that they send 7 people my address and information and send me 7 OTHER people's addresses and information, and you start to get letters. Well. I don't have the time nor the money to be sending 14 people letters all the time, but I really don't want to have to write to someone and say, "I don't want to exchange letters with you anymore," or anything of the sort. It sounds so heartless! And of course, it's nothing they've done. What should I do? Just find my pen friend and let the others trail off? That seems so irresponsible.

Sean, keep in mind that everyone else who has signed up for this service is in the same boat you are, so the seven people who wrote to you also probably wrote to six other people as well, right?
So yes, I would answer and correspond with the people you share common interests with, and the others will trail off naturally. It's not irresponsible at all. The company is trying to ensure that you find a suitable "match" and so they send out multiple addresses to each person. Everyone involved should be aware of this, so there aren't any hard feelings.

this is sounds uncommon for some one to place a lot attempt right into a lie and their a million/2 way international. swap %s, use complication-loose experience, do not do something which you does not do with somebody in the U.S. giving your P.O. field sounds clever and risk-free. Plus I had a jap pen chum and he or she sent me lot of grants and greeting enjoying cards. I sent her issues she did not have get admission to to love particular manufacturers and stuff. Its somewhat relaxing to attempt new products from Japan too.
