gatherings like todays 32 seconds of silence. I don't mean to sound like an *** but todays 32 seconds of silence where they release a balloon every second was pretty lame. Yeah the balloon represents a soul leaving earth to a better place, but i wonder what its gonna represent when an animal is choking to death with that same white balloon... time to move on.

I agree about the balloon issue. I have always been against releasing balloons because of the harm it can do to animals. But as far as them moving on, until you have been in a situation like that, you can't judge. Everyone and every situation is different and people need time to heal however they feel is appropriate.

I sincerely hope that 32 people are never murdered near your home . If they want to cope that way, it would be your business how? Now if you should ask if the media should go away and leave them alone and cover something else, that would be different. Have a heart, they are sad, scared kids. It may be a big campus, but most of them knew one of those murdered, at least in passing. At my age that would be hard to deal with. How much harder must it be to a bunch of teens?

Oh, come on...they're trying to do something meaningful in the light of so much meaningless death. The wounds are still fresh, so give them another week or so to have their special ceremonies and their candlelight vigils...After that they need to get on with their lives.

It has only been a week -- and today is the first day back. They will move on.

Unless you are worried about Helium seeping into the atmosphere, why do you care how they choose to grieve?

I see nothing wrong with the memorial activities at VT and the VT community. The media, and America's insatiable appetite for it is where it should stop. Enough already.
