The best thing to do is go see your doctor and talk to him/her about it. You will have to go to the government office in your area and apply, they will review your application, call and discuss things with your doctor and make a decision on whether or not you are eligible, if you are it takes 6 months before you will recieve your first check, if you aren't there are lawyers who specialize in getting disability services for people. I am on disability now, it is a long process. Good Luck.

I don't think you qualify for disability. It's for people who are handicapped or have health problems that mean they can't work at all. I'm sure that having to go to the bathroom frequently won't stop you from getting a job. Not a disability to be overweight either - exercise and lose some weight. If you can't wear shoes, then wear sandals or something that will accomodate your toe spur. My girlfriend has worked for years with painful bunions and MS so, no offense, but you aren't disabled.

Start looking for work that you can do. Or, go to your local social services and plead your case to be put on the dole.

I am 54 and on Social Security Disability. I am a nurse and I got hurt while I was at work.
I have been on disability for over 3 years now. I was turned down two times before I had to get a lawyer to fight for me.
We had to go to court and the judge was the one who decided if I was disabled or not.
I had four back surgeries and a back fusion I could not believe that they were having so much problems deciding. I had not worked for over 3 years.
Finally I was placed on disability.
It is so very hard to get on it. You do not get very much money either!!!

You have to have plenty of paper work saying you are unable to work due to??? What ever is wrong with you.
They tried for ever to try and find a job I could do.
I am in constant pain with my back. I am on oral morphine. I have a internal pain pump which puts morphine into my back all day long. With all this medicine I still have back pain.

I would say you have your work cut out for you.
You need to call your local Social Security Office and tell them what you are wanting to do. They will send you the necessary papers to fill out.

Good Luck

you think you are in a rutt right now, you will really be in a rutt if you are on disability. Call the govt. office for more information to see if you can get it temporarily.

I would try and find work no matter how hard it is to work.
