I have a credit application from a customer.?

I need to call their banks listed but I'm not sure what to ask. Will they tell me a 12 month average balance, if any checks have been returned in the previous 6 months, and the date the account was opened? Are these good questions and will the bank give me the answers? I've never done this before.

they will need a form filled out and signed by your customer in order to release information to a 3rd party.

I would do just like you did here. Just call the banks up, explain that all of this is new to you, but you need the information and see what the procedure is to get the info.
