I know that nobody is perfect, but instead of having to continually repent or go to confession etc.....why don't people just not do bad things.....Christians obviously must *decide* whether to sin or not,so wouldn't it be better to *decide* not to....You do have a choice and a brain you know!.....It really is that simple and God would be much happier.

Further, these are often the same conservatives who will otherwise say government should stay out of our lives. Try to legislate how many guns they can by, and it's big government trying to dictate their morals. Don H presents nonsense. It does not logically follow that a perfect creator should produce a perfect creation. In fact, given that any two perfect things would be indistinguishable, and thus one thing, it necessarily follows that a perfect creator must have a less than perfect creation for it to be different from the creator in any way. It is also completely nonsensical that divorce has only benefited divorce lawyers. It has done no damage to the institution of marriage, but only exposed what was already rotten under the surface. As for family being the "bedrock of society": that may be true, but it need not be family as defined by the religious right. Two males who adopt a child are just as much a "family" as any husband and wife.

well okay...you start...you see if you can go without committing a sin for, lets say a year. God made us sinners, we are all sinners and even the most holy of people have sinful thoughts once in a while (thoughts count too remember). I am not sure God would be happier if we did not sin, something tells me 1) he did not choose you to speak for him and 2) ours sins teach us lessons that help us to understand and make better choices with our free will in the future. I will make it easy for you though...do this:

Love God above all else, all other things, even MONEY
Love ALL of God's people, no matter who they are or what they do.
Do not make any judgments about anyone or what they do, no pointing out others sins
Forgive absolutely everyone no matter what they have done
Leave heaven and hell decisions to God

Yeah...do that and he will probably be pretty happy.

Because the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
I can decide every day not to sin and sometimes I don't realize like when I start to gossip and stuff. But other times it is a deliberate decision like when I skip quiet time. It comes down to putting our own pleasures above God's desire. And as much as I try I cannot do it. Take biblical examples.
The Bible records only two men that walked with God. Noah who saved mankind and Enoch who was taken to heaven
David was a man after God's own heart and yet look at all his sin.
God uses those who are the weakest but yet the most humble.
If we could all simply choose to be perfect and sinless we wouldn't need Jesus. In fact that is a picture of the angels. They had one choice. Perfection or sin. They have no Savior as we do.

I will give you a simple answer with a simple poem.

Two natures lie within my breast.
One is cursed and one is blessed.
One I love and one I hate,
But the one I feed will dominate.

We are sinners by nature. Salvation doesn't erase our sin nature but gives us power over it. It is our choice whether we will exercise this God given power or not.

Thankfully when we fail, God has promised us forgiveness if we repent and are truly sorry for failing Him.

The bible shows that it is impossible to not sin, being that we are sinners. That's if we use the criteria that is in the bible on what is or isn't a sin. If we have to use the Law of Moses as an example, look at all those sacrifices that we are not doing- sinful!

You might not rely on your own understanding to come to the conclusion that you come to.

You pretty much answered your own question. We will all continue to sin until our carnal death. Thank God for Jesus that we are able to be forgiven and that we are loved so much by Jesus that despite continous sin of any nature believers of Christ are still shed unfathomable grace and able to enter eternal life in heaven with God. It has nothing to do with our own doing or own works of any kind. It's all by the grace of God and his pure, uncomprehensible love.

Not everyone is perfect so we all know that were going to sin at some point. and its impossible to do nothing wrong. and your right God would be happier. But i want you to try to do nothing wrong for one day dont even think impure. and tell me why were not perfect.

It's in our nature. The Bible says that the heart is evil, and that everyone falls short of the glory of God, therefore, a person is incapable of completely not sinning, however it deters them from wanting to sin, and nevertheless, your sins are forgiven.

That's why Jesus had to come to earth and die for "our sins" because man can not live a sinless life, we need his blood and Spirit to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

But we do not live a life of "practising sin" when we slip up we repent. we don't sin on purpose.
were as un believers put it down and try to discredit it so they can live and pratice sin, because they don't want to give it up.

have a great day :-)

Every human being is tempted to sin. We all are weak but we can overcome as well. Great question!
