when the immune system can't keep up with the growth of bacteria, the number of bacteria can soon increase to the point where their presence causes illness. how can bacteria be killed when an infection occurs? be specific, and discribe the process that kills the bacteria

They do this by interfering with the formation of the cell walls or cell contents of the bacteria. Other antibiotics are 'bacteriostatic', meaning that they work by stopping bacteria multiplying. If you develop an illness caused by a bacterium the bacteria are ‘grown’ in a dish and when they reach a certain stage their growth is visible to the naked eye. Various small pellets of different antibiotics are placed at regularly spaced intervals in this growth. After the requisite period of time has elapsed, the antibacterial pellet that has the widest clear area surrounding it, is the drug of choice and the patient then undergoes treatment with this specific antibiotic.

How do antibiotics work? Do you think they go around and kill the bacteria, take out a gun and shoot them? No they just alter the acid or alkaline of the blood. If you have the right acid or alkaline environment then the bacteria will set up home, multiply and thrive. The problem is to figure out 'what' bacteria and then find the right antibiotic.

This does indeed sound as if you're trying to manipulate others into doing your homework for you. I suggest you run searches on the different classifications (types of antibiotics) and look at the mechanisms of several. Mechanisms are how the meds work and describe exactly how the bacteria are affected by the med.

depending on the bacteria type there are over 30 different antibiotics on the market today with different potency. and some side effects. because they also kill the good bacteria in your intestine. depending on the type of virus a 500 mg dose of penicillin sells for $10.00 in Mexico or Canada, I live next to Mexico so I get mine there.
