I was staying with my brother sleeping on the couch and his roommate comes into the living room sleepwalking naked sporting an erection, no joke! He sat down next to me stared at the TV and started to jerk off. I was totally shocked.

My dad is a sleepwalker, so I saw the look in his guy's eyes that you can't fake. We were told by my dad's doctor to either just lead him to bed if he is walking or if he is doing a task that help him finish it because he will contine to sleepwalk until he feels the task is done.( we were told of cases of people driving, bathing, having sex and even murder while sleepwalking. all totally unaware of it) He also said ever wake him as that can be utterly terrifying for the sleepwalker.

I froze staring like a deer in head lights. Before I knew it he climaxed and got up and walked back to bed. My brother said he never noticed it before. They have only been roommates for a few months.

What should I have done? Whould you have stared to?

Wow, what an extremely uncomfortable situation to be in!
Honestly, I think you did the right thing, which was to do nothing. I know you are uncomfortable and probably very nervous to be around this guy again, but consider this, how embarrassed would he be if he knew you saw all this?
I think the best thing to do is to have a heart and never mention it to him directly. If you want to make sure it won't happen again, then tell your brother and have him lock the guy's door when he goes to bed, that way he can't wander out of his room.

You could tell him that he was sleep walking, but refrain from mentioning the particulars. Tell him that he sat down in front of the TV, but not what he was doing. Tell him that it woke you up, or kept you awake or something. He will take the hint that you did not like it and will try to find a solution. If you lock him in without telling him he may wake up in the middle of the night sometime and need to go to the bathroom, then he would find out. You would have to always make sure that you got up before he did and went to bed after he did. I think that partial honesty is the best policy.

According to your question, you already got your instructions from your dad's doctor - "We were told by my dad's doctor to either just lead him to bed if he is walking or if he is doing a task that help him finish it "

Therefore, you should have given him a 'hand' :)
