You do see an awful lot of them, but then again who cares-if you like it then why should it matter,I don't think many people have anything too unique these days-I've not seen or heard of anything that nobody else has.

Maybe to someone who is sucked in by consumer culture and is constantly striving to have the next big thing or whatever fashion is in for the week...then yes tattoos are dated.
But if you consider that modern American culture isn't the end all and be all of humanity and has only been around for a mere second in historical terms then tattoos are not dated.
Tattoos have been practiced in one form or other since the beginning of human history. Go and look beyond current fashions before you make a quick judgment.

Tattoos come and go with the trends. One style is cool for a decade, then it's another. Right now it seems that tribals and Chinese letters are the in fad for tattoos.
Look at the style from the 50's with birds being trendy. Now that style of inking has become retro-cool. Styles come and go. The sun tattoo may be dated or it could go on as a style for a long time.

there are lots of tattoos that are dated. i'm not a fan of sun tattoos but lots of people have them. i can definitely think of worse tattoos to have tho.
the fact is that there are definitely tattoo trends and some of them happen again and again. hopefully i'll never get a tattoo just because it's a fad. even tho some people consider some of the tattoos i have to be fads, they have a deep meaning to me, which is why i got them NOT to be trendy or cute.

All tattoos become dated at some time because they are permanent.
I have a sun, it's the one Anastacia has and it's in the same place, I love it.
