Most people think that Canon is the top digital camera manufacturer. Check the chart "Top brands of the last five days" chart at dpreview.com - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/stats.asp - Canon is almost always on the top of this chart.

Depends on the model and what you want. I don't think there is any one brand that is the best. I have had a Kodak, and a Fuji. A friend of mine has a Sony, and another friend a Canon. Personaly I like my Fuji the best. But if I were buying one today, I would read all the reviews before I made my decision. I like this website. www.dpreview.com

LA mistakenly suggested that Canon only makes cameras. That is not correct. Just visit Canon.com and you'll see they make many, many different products. That doesn't have any influence on the quality of their cameras, necessarily - but you deserve correct information.

Regarding "what brand of digital camera is best"; all you're going to get here are personal opinions. You haven't given enough information to get a useful answer. Best digital camera for what? A pocket point & shoot? A professional studio camera? What are you going to take pictures of? What features do you want? What's your price budget?

Asking "what brand of digital camera is best" is like asking "what brand of car is best" or "what brand of blue jeans is best." You need to do your homework and answer some basic questions for yourself first.

The Canon IXUS series is the best. But now I have a Sony Erricsson K800i, which is a 3.2 megapixel camera phone and is also excellent. I don't like to carry a camera around but I've always got the phone with me.

I have a Kodak easy share. I bought it for under $100 on sale the day after Thanksgiving. I really wasn't expecting too much out of it because I have always preferrred Canons, but I am really impressed. I love it. It is sooo easy to use and it has a really neat computer program that allows you to change your photos to black & white, cartoons and much more. I absolutly love it!!!!
