I work in an industry that requires lots of long capacity rechargeable batteries. Lithium ion seems to be what we have most of now. I have some unique ideas for modular housing designs and charging options that I believe would sell well to my industry. How would one go about finding a manufacturer to build the batteries to my specifications and mass produce them at a low cost for resale? Thanks.

Here's an outfit I've been using successfully for this kind of service for the last couple of years. They have a web page at http://www.phb-batteries.com/home.htm

You would need to search for all the companies that are developing rechargeable technologies and see if it would be profitable to make them. Most battery companies depend on high volume to make a $$$ because costs are high and profit margins low. The Japanese and Asians are very competitive on pricing. For starters, try A123, a new company that is developing iron phospate rechargeables. You could also send a letter to the research directors of the bigger battery companies, but they really need to see $$$ to make it worth any effort.
