My friend and her boyfriend are moving to San Antonio in less than a week. She has offered many college links to colleges in San Antonio, and I've found a college that looks good to me. They already have a 2 bedroom apartment, but they have no room for me to stay, which is fine..I just have to find an affordable place to stay. I'm looking to work in a restaurant(I'm currently a waitress at Colton's and I make good money) since she told me that it's a big restaurant town.
However, my parents will not let me take my car(which is in their name) out of state for fear of it being stolen, etc..Their main concern is paying it off before I go anywhere with it.
Can anyone help me figure this out??

Sounds to me as if your parents are not in favor of you leaving town. Do they have a legitimate reason for this? Really, your car could get stolen any where.

I think you should take a trip to Texas first and look over the situation. Check out places to live, public transportation and jobs.

You don't say how old you are? Do you live at home now? Are you attending college now? How do you know you will be accepted at any colleges? There are a lot of things that need checking out before you just move to a strange place. You cannot accept your friend and her boyfriend to be your baby sitters either. You must be able to make it on your own.......

Check out the bus and rent situation in San Antonio first. You can do it if you can find an affordable place and if the bus is easy to take to work. I heard that the rents there are high, but a college town should have a lot of smaller places with lower rents available. If the rents seem too high or if the bus system is not good, then wait until you can pay the car off and then transfer to San Antonio. It is a beautiful city and the opportunities should be great there.

Good luck.

first of all, the insiders comprehend that the Chargers are going to l. a. once the hot stadium opens. The "completely solid" stadium in San Antonio is wide-spread to desire $100-one hundred fifty million in advancements for an NFL crew. It wasn't sophisticated in 1993 at the same time as it opened, and now it truly is 16 years extra in the back of. And the San Antonio metro section in basic terms isn't that tremendous, so the Jaguars might want to be trading one small marketplace for yet another. Oklahoma city is an same situation, with the further situation of no stadium, so someone might want to be searching at paying $600 million for that. And it truly is effortless understanding obtainable how the cowboys screwed the taxpayers for his or her new temple, so Oklahoma electorate will be warned. Plus that city is amazingly close to to Dallas, so it would want to be a divided marketplace. Jacksonville does desire to bypass, yet i do no longer see both of the cities said as an answer.

I know that UTSA has a dormitory that you can stay on and its right downtown so I'm sure you could find plenty of work. It's a nice city, the traffic is not as bad as houstons from what i heard. It's only 45 mins. from austin., and 20-30 from san marcos and New Braunfels which has Schilitterbahn, outlet malls, etc.
