I have a sinus infection and have had it for a little over a month, last week I finally decided to get some meds to help me get over it...I hate being sick. So she gave me 30 500mg of amoxicillin, which I take 3x's a day and told me to take mucinex too(the pharmacy gave me a a bottle of 40 600mg pills and it says to take then 2x's a day every 12 hrs. After taking the pills(I take all 3 in the morning on at lunch and 3 at night) i started feeling nauseous, tired and dizzy... after the second day on it I began to feel itchy all over. Last weekend I didn't take my meds, I left them in the office on accident, and I felt like normal. This morning I got the meds and took them and no I feel crappy. My stomach feel bloated, it aches, I'm nauseous, and tired. Is it a bad reaction to the meds or am I supposed to suffer?

Meds are like shoes , one size does Not fit all .
You should be very aware of negative reactions and stop them , then tell your doctor .

They gave me the pharmaceutical B vitamin (Niaspan) for high cholesterol (because regular vitamins have little quality control )
I ended up looking like a burned lobster all over my body . I also ended up woozy and nauseous .
Fortunately , I had taken it at nite , because , had I taken it during the day and been driving . . .
There would have been a bad accident .

So , also , NEVER take any medication the first time when you will be doing anything with any mechanical or electrical device . Find out how you respond on your day off , at home with no complex activities planned .

And check the medications side effects here (although many are radically Under Stated ! )

This is a reaction. Call your doc ASAP and report this to him and do NOT take any more medication until he calls you back. Tell him every thing including the itching you had on the second day.

Nausea and vomiting are common side effects for antibiotics in general.
You do not have an allergy, just a fairly common side effect.
