I had a pastor that admitted to having some klkind of problem like that. I forget whether it was drinking or smoking weed. But I had a problem with those things, so . . . what difference does it make? If there are those who have problems, or had problems, how much different from anyone else are they from anyone else?
What a Christian must do it trust God, and He will bring all of them around. it doesn't mean we have to be pure. It means that we have to trust God!

There was a Pentecostal reverend that lived next door to me growing up. 50-something, with a wife and kids, and their kids had kids.
When I was about 16 or 17, he impregnated an underage girl. This was around the same time that the Jimmy Bakker/Jimmy Swaggart/Oral Roberts scandals were going on. I was already questioning the existence of God.
That event was a milestone (for lack of a better word) in my realization that Christianity is a haven for liars, thieves, and other undesirables. When it happens on a national scale, ala Swaggart, that's one thing; when it happens (literally) right next door, it's a very sobering experience.

Not my pastor, but I have heard other pastors say that they were drug users, before they turned their lives around and accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts. By the way, I think that former drug users or alcholics make the best preachers, because they understand and can help others more effectively!

No, but he's admitted to drinking excessively, looking at porn and other sins (all prior to being Born Again). Keep in mind, we broadcast our sermons on tv and cable, so it's not as if he's admitting his sins in secret.
He's a VERY humble man. God bless him!

Yes.
He is also in Alcoholics Anonymous. 15 years sober.
Good guy, too. Brilliant preacher, doesn't need/use notes. An ordained Baptist in a Presbyterian Church.

Yep. 30+ years ago in his BC days. He was a drug user and dealer. Spend some time in prison. In his mid-20s, Jesus got ahold of him and turned him completely around.

Actually, kind of. It was my old Army chaplain. I blazed a few with him. And I believe he is still currently smoking it. Possibly, as I type...
