The Catholic Church performed gay marriages for centuries. John Boswell, a respected Vatican scholar found evidence in the Vatican's own archives, including standard ceremonies. For homosexuality in Islam, read Arabian Nights.

God would be in favor of homosexuality and he would spank all the naughty, sinning, hypocritical, bigoted and mentally deficient Christians for "interpreting" his words so perversely.

This is disputed by Dr. Robin Darling Young ("an Associate Professor of Theology at the Catholic University of America, where she teaches early Christian history" [she appears to be at Notre Dame now):

Well maybe if we all sit back and think about this thing rationally we will find that most people go to church, read the bible and live the life of heathens because we don't want to be told what is right and what is wrong. Do I think its wrong for two men or two women to be happy together.Yes and no.
Yes because God burned down a whole city for this exact reason because he didn't make Adam and Steve, he created Adam and Eve to procreate. Two men can not procreate just as well as two women can't procreate without a man. In the end after all is said and done we are gonna do what we want to do and suffer the consequences after we have had fun. No I think that everyone is responsible for our own actions and we all make decisions that are not quite right but still we do it any way and figure that we will pay in the end when judgement day rolls around. In the end who are you or me to sit and judge when we all do things that are wrong maybe not as wrong as homosexuality but still not quite right.

Jesus Christ, who was God, claimed that the Bible was God's holy Word and that it was truth.
Romans 1:18-30 clearly states that homosexuality is a sinful digression from what He designed. It states that the cause is "exchanging the truth for a lie", and worshipping the creation instead of the creator. So according to what He wrote, the answer is yes.
Whether or not the church performed gay marriages is irrelevant, because people, Christian or not, have a sin nature that has a tendency to take over.
Also , in many passages, porneia or sexual sin of any kind is seen as heinous to God. What it does is to deny His authorship of marriage, and His design for people. It is that denial or pride that makes Him angry.

Yes, Marriage has always been (since Adam and Eve) a holy union to provide an enviornment where God's children could be brought into a loving enviornment and raise to know and love God. The first commandment to Adam and Eve was to be fruitful and replenish the earth-this means have children. Gay marriage is an abomination in the eyes of God because it mocks the system that he instigated and the commandment that he gave to Adam and Eve. God has never lifted this sacred commandment and obligation to procreate. Marriage is not just about being happy, it is a commitment to God. Just because a religion started by Constatine or Muhammad Supposedly sanctified the abomination of gay marriage does not make it the will of God. Why would anyone think that a church that teaches the doctrine of "original sin" could understand the first commandment of God to man? God can not command us to sin, yet he commanded us to procreate.

Just because one person says it and claims to have found evidence does not change my view on this.

I think that God wants all men to be happy, and that some are born into having homosexual tendencies. But that does not mean that God wants them to get married.

I don't know, I am glad that I am not in that situation. I do know that we cannot judge each other and salvation is between a person and God.

But, lacking any good, collaborated information, I will follow the teachings of my Church on this one.

I also think our Government has MUCH larger problems to deal with than this.

Peace!

Yes. It is against his law. Since when is God in the habit of setting aside his law for the evil men want to do?

Since when is the Catholic church an authority on anything? This is the same church that teaches that tradition is equal to authority of Scripture and that Mary was basically part of the trinity.

Show me biblically where God is more concerned about your hapiness that He allows you to continue in sin?

Jer. 29:11-14 tells us that the plans God has for us are not for calamity, but for our welfare, giving us a hope. The wages of sin are death and seperation from God. Homosexuality is not only a sin, but singled out as an abomination before the Lord. There is no way God would condone that activity that leads to destruction simply for our sinful pleasure.

I would have to say that there is no true happiness apart from God's word. God didn't lay down the laws to keep us from fun, He wants to protect us. The things He tells us not to do are things that will harm us. In our finite knowledge, we cannot see the end from the beginning like He can. He knows what will hurt us. If He says it is wrong, I have learned to trust Him.

Catholic bashing again here we go. The church has grown over time and of course mistakes may have been made but the Catholic church teaches against it. Don't bash what you don't practice or understand. Sodomy is disgusting anyway eww.

It sounds as tho you want Gods approval of a Homosexual relationship. God gave us free will to do what we want, but there are consequences.

We are sinful people. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
The Glory is Forgiveness is available for all. John 3:16 says
