In October, I began having pain in my upper left abdomin. This was accompanied by extreme fatigue and a 12 pound weight loss in 2 weeks. I went to the doctor who is stumped and seems a little unconserned. He has done a sonogram, blood tests and x-rays and has found nothing. The pain became a little less and flairs up from time to time but is always present at least a little. It is up under my rib cage and is an annoying dull pain. Sometimes it gets worse and feels like salt on an open wound only inside of my body or it becomes sharp pain. I have dizzy spells that come and go. It is too high in my abdomin to be the colon and doesn't seem to be helped by anything that soothes the stomach like antacids and things of that sort. I have also been running about a 100 degree temp most of the time. I feel drained and tired all of the time and noting I do or eat seems to make it better or worse. It just is there constantly and gets worse to the point of me doubling over from the pain. Help!

They did do an ultrasound of my entire abdomin and found nothing.

I literally just went to the doctor this weekend for the same exact thing. It has been going on for about a year! It never really hurts as much as it is annoying. He had told me that it is the underwire bra that I am wearing, sounds a little obsurd but it does make sense. However, you could be suffering from acid reflux disease as well which may cause the dull sensation. Remember that acid reflux doesn't always have to hurt. However, as far as the temperature how long have you been running a temp? I would advise seeing a doctor that specializes in blood. I believe it is and oncologist! I am still awating the test results to see if there is anything further wrong with me. I will mention that I have a chronic sinus infection which I had no idea I had. But, if you like you can e-mail me..and we can talk I totally understand your position; it is very frustrating.

It actually does sound like trapped gas, but if it persists, go back to the doc. Try some anti gas pills and see if it helps. Could also be a muscle strain. Don't worry about Gall bladder, liver or pancreas disease, they are on the right side, not the left. If you have a cold or flu, it could be bronchitis, but I'm sure your doc would have recognized that. My guess is it's a muscle sprain if it's constant. If it comes and goes, probably gas.

I had lower right abdominal pain, the same feeling as you described. They did x-ray, ultrasound, ruled out gall bladder, kidney stones, bladder, ovaries and all associated tubes. Next came the internal, pap smear and STD, all was normal. They failed to find the root of the problem.
Eventually I managed to get a MRI and found out I had a bulging disc!

Go back to the doctor and ask if they will do an ultrasound on your gallbladder and addomin to see if there is anything going on. If the doctor doesn't do that change doctors. When I was going through that I found out I had gall stones.

Good luck
