When people select their Avatars, they do so for a cool one that kind of resembles them. Interestingly, there are no fat ones to choose from, so I would say it is the norm to think that fat is not cool.

you need some fat otherwise you die but too much bodyfat is bad for your health so it depends.
its cool if youre a sumo but not if youre a swimmer, you'd come last and look very stupid.

fat isn't really cool because it shows laziness and lack of desire to exercise or workout.
