Bloody hell that title made me sound like a geek.

Anyway I'm only 18 so I'm no expert on this, which is why I'm asking you guys your opinion.

I don't know about girls fancying guys. But I think all girls are beautiful and in fact its just different guys are attracted to different things meaning they don't fancy the girls who don't have those features and all, making them seem unattractive in their eyes. I know personality is a huge thing, but I'm really just talking about looks now. Anyway think about it. There are those guys who are attracted to the "larger" women and all sorts of other aspects, so I'm thinking maybe my theory ain't bad. I know I would never ever call a girl ugly or bad looking, whether she was present or not. The thing is I'm constantly having to get p***ed off at my mates for saying stuff like that, which makes me think u don't all agree with my view lol. Anyway I'd be dead interested to hear what you think please.

lol sry sharp300. The question was:

Do you agree that all girls are pretty and guys just seek different qualities, or is it possible to be "bad-looking"?

I'll do my best bloke! =)

You're right guys and even girls have specific physical types. However, often times our exact type is not something within our reach, say Liz Hurley. But instead we "go down a rung on the ladder" and instead find things that we initially did not have on our "specific type" but realize now that they should have and will be in the future. I understand where you are coming from and have been 18 before and I realize at that age physical appearance is the largest factor, and frankly continues it's trend. However other things become much larger contributors as life and experience goes on. We begin to understand that physical beauty is temporary, while personality is permanent. I'd rather have someone in the middle appearance wise with a great personality as opposed to an extremely beautiful person who has no personality and a "the whole world revolves around me" attitude. A better question maybe, do good personalities develop because perhaps they don't have the same visual effect on men as other beautiful girls? And do beautiful girls have the lack of a personality or the lack of intelligence because they don't have the need to change because they can always find a new guy to appreciate them for a year before they get tired of them? Believe me, I don't generalize, and this wasn't intended to do so, but rather I believe the statistics would prove the argument as correct.

well, we're all different. if we all liked the same people, then the world would shrink pretty fast! also, a lot of attraction is based on 1) a person's own self-esteem and self-image and 2) whether or not, really, the body instinct thinks that person is a good match in the genetic scheme of things. why does a woman like a 'strong' man? because in the cave man days, he would be most likely to make sure she got fed and clothed and her kids didn't get killed. why does a man like a woman with big breasts or hips or butt? because it seems to indicate that she might be a good child-bearer--hey, this is the area of the subconscious but there you go. just a few thoughts for a very large topic. and no, you didn't sound like a geek ;-)

Awww I thinking you're a gentleman and I'd rather date you than any of your friends! My ex had the same theory as you but used "girls and shoes" as a comparison, some girls may like high heels some others comfy boots at the end of the day none are better or worse than the others :b Best of luck with your lovelife, you are going to be a fab b.f :)

Attraction is a part of it. Number one, how somebody moves, how they smell, the way they do things and how you react to them can all be a level of attraction. I agree, its not all about looks. One of my past boyfriends was not all great looking, balding and needed to lose some weight, but he had the most incredible eyes, and when he smiled, his face just lit me up. He also had an incredible voice and loved fufilling a woman. So, other things do determine attraction and alot of times, sometimes the drop dead gorgeous women are not all they are cracked up to be; meaning they have nothing going on upstairs or they act all full of themselves. Take care and good luck.

I think you're basically correct. I think it also applies to personality too, though this is harder to see from a distance.

Of course your mates are simply giving their opinion of a girl's looks when they talk about whether or not she is attractive. It is certainly not polite to be insulting, but no real harm is done if the person doesn't hear.

you didnt state a theory you stated a fact that people are attracted to people who have features that they like and lack those they dont, thats always been a fact its not a theory, but in retrospect yes i think all women are beautiful but you have to remeber that everyone has a difference of opinion including your mates and you have to respect that too :)>
