Paganism (witchcraft) predates all these religions, so you can't say you're not connected (however distantly) to it.

Oh, wow, great question! Many of the fundamentals of Judeo-Christian religion are based on Pagan premises. When Christian missionaries began to Christianize Pagan areas, they simply borrowed from Paganism to create a newer Christianity. Call me a heretic, but St. Brigid was a Pagan goddess before she was a saint.
Look up some information about Mesopotamia (specifically the Epic of Gilgamesh). The ancient Sumerians (Pagans) had a flood story just like Christianity, so you can't deny that the religions are related.
Many Christian beliefs are in fact Pagan in origin.... High Holy Days (holidays) are set on originally Pagan festivals and so forth.

The tendency to seem flighty. To change without following through. I find this not only within myself sometimes, but also within many people I meet in the community. Every religion has good and bad aspects. I think Christians probably stick with one idea too long, to the point where if you find that to be demonstrably wrong, you keep doing it anyway out of a sense of loyalty. (Look at Bush, or the whole Free-Trade idea) We pagans tend to be the opposite, and fly toward the next idea with the wind. The Goddess cult survived European Christiandom... ok... It didn't it's a revival.... ok... Nothing survived at all, and it's all just inspired by Thelema, Spiritualism, and Theosophy... ok... There are some aspects that survived as Mesopaganism, but it was different than paleopaganism, and the new neopaganism... ok...

Paganism with a capital p is a large movement that encompasses pre- and post-Abrahamic religions.

It is NOT, however, a reconstruction of an ancient religion unto itself.

There were dozens of pre-Christian and other Pre-abrahamic religions, and asking people how they feel about them as if there was only one is a mistake.

Most Pagan religions today are Post-Christian, they arrived after the fall of Christianity as manditory state religion.

Actually if you go back to the first 2 people, they had faith in and knew the God of Abraham.

The only thing that does indeed connect the major monotheistic religions is they all point to the same God, the God of Abraham. Judaism and Christianity have a LOT in common but they differ on who Jesus was. Islam is really the odd man out because it denies far too many Biblical principles.

I can say with no reservation that Christianity is in no way connected with Paganism. It doesn't matter what is older, they are in direct contradiction of one another.
