I asked a question and somhow received this answer....

In 1988 we entered the period of Great Tribulation spoken of in Matthew 24. We know from this chapter and other supporting Scriptures (2 Thessalonians 2, Jeremiah 25, Ezekiel 9, Revelation 18, etc) that satan is now ruling in ALL local churches. Because the Holy Spirit has departed from every church, it is now impossible for anyone to be saved in a church regardless of the accuracy of the preaching/teaching.

The Great Tribulation is a period of 23 years. From everything we now know from the Bible, 2011 will mark the end of the world and 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we continually study the Bible, these dates may change but to this present time everything seems to line up.

No it can't be true...only the Lord knows the time and day. I don't believe the Holy Spirit has left all of the churches and I don't understand where the year 1988 came from. The Bible did not say we entered the Great Tribulation in 1988. That is just a guess that yet another false prophet is trying to make. The End of Times was supposed to happen in 1836, 1967 (During the Six Day War) 1999, 2000 (2,000 years after Christ died), and now it is 2012. It is just another on the long list of failed Apocalyptic dates. And the tribulation does not last 23 years; I believe it was 7 years. It will start with a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine. The agreement will end in it's 3rd year, and World War III will start in the 3rd year as a result of the Antichrist provoking violence. This has not happened yet. If it did happen this year, the closest possible date for the End of Times would be in 2010. But, the Antichrist has not shown himself to the world yet, Israel and Palestine aren't in the most violence that they've been in history, and no breakthroughs on a peace agreement have been made yet. So, I am assuming it will happen years after 2011. You can tell the End is near when this 7 year agreement comes. This and the appearence of a man who can perform miracles and brings worlwide peace for the first time in the world's history will be the two true signs.

It is not true for the following reasons:

1. The Tribulation occurs AFTER the Rapture of the Church. Since we're all still here, that's strike one!

2. The Bible plainly states that the Tribulation is a period of 7 years, not 23. It is the last "week (group of 7) of years" afforded to Israel to take her place once again as God's chosen people and minister to the world. Strike two!

3.The Antichrist, though he is alive somewhere on Earth now (in my humble opinion) hasn't risen to the world stage, created ways to end poverty and etc. as the Bible says he would. The mark of the beast hasn't been instituted, the Third Temple hasn't been built.....Needless to say, strike three!

Hi Kadija,
I do not believe this to be true, but my reasons may not convince you. I see the Lord at work all the time in my church and church family. I would have a hard time beleiving that Satan would allow so much good to happen if he were in charge. Everyone is always preaching the end is now and you can build a case for it over and over throughout history. I mean if Hitler or Stalin weren't the beast then I have a hard time thinking of anyone in this time as being close. (I will admit that the continuing strife in the Middle East is worrying, but there have been many worse times over the ages. My Old Testament professor in college (Gustav Jeeninga at Anderson College and a holocaust survivor) that the New Testament writers believed Jesus return would happen in the first 100 years after the resurection so they wrote with that slant or tilt of what what they new. So even though all they said is true and devinely inspired I think you have to remember that it was written by humans with human understanding.
Anyway, I think people spend way too much time worrying about stuff that is not within ones ability to control. Being a Christian is about trying to continue the work of Christ in feeding the hungery, living in community with your neighbors and forgiving others (and yourself) the way Christ forgave us. For me it is about faith, we are not always meant to understand, just have faith. I am sure God doesn't feel the need to explain it all to us, he just wants us to believe, act on that belief and have the faith of a child and to accept his Grace.
Have a great day, hope it helps.

The Bibles tells us the Tribulation timeframe is 7 years, broken into two 3.5 yr halves. The first half has Israel within a false peace with its neighbors. The temple of the Lord will be rebuilt in Israel. The second half has the antichrist in charge.

The Bible also tells us that no one knows the day or the hour.

But, consistent with God's nature is the removal of Christians from the earth and out of the wrath of God by the Lord Himself prior to this time. Therefore, one key element will be that all those who profess Jesus Christ as Lord will be raptured. The only remnant remaining (that will ultimately be martyred) will consist of the 144,000 of God's chosen people - the Israelites - to continue proclaiming the Truth. When they are taken and the 7 yrs are up...woe to those on earth, for God's wrath will be unrestrained!

I can't say if it's true or not but I will say it makes great sense. I totally agree with the Holy Spirit not in the churches. I don't go to church for that reason exactley. I study the bible, pray and meditate on God's word on my own. The spirit of truth is the Holy spirit, all I want to know is the truth. The Holy Spirit is my teacher and "wow" when truth is revealed it is the most awesome thing that I could possibly experience. I am filled with unexplainable joy and peace and a even stronger desire for more of what my Father has promised. It's awesome and I hope that others that read this understand what I mean. If you do let me know. Because if you do than you also know that there's others that think we are freaks. "Jesus Freaks" lol

If you are listening to camping, you are as delusional and decieved as he is. I used to listen to him 'faithfully' in the 80's. He made predictions about the last days and the return of Christ (to the day mind you). He did this more than one time and the radio station he was on fired him, for good reason. Making unsubstantiated claims where scripture is concerned is not over the line, it's over the cliff. After all these years and he's still saying the same thing? Even Jehovah's Witnesses have backed off most of that predicting the times. Why don't you grow up and read the bible for yourself and let the Holy Spirit teach you by truth speaking teachers who care about where and how you end up.

No the bible is clear that the tribulation will start with the confirmation of the covenant. This is a peace treaty with Isreal for 7 years. There has to be a rebuilt Jewish temple at this time as well. Also there has to be a one world government, economic system, religion, and a one world leader called the anti christ.

Go to this site if you want the truth. Wacth these videos an be informed of what is truly going to take place.

No, I don't believe it either.

I do believe, as a Christian, that we will suffer some sort of a "tribulation" before life as we know it ends, the unrepentant are condemned, and the earth is rebuilt, but we can know only a very little about it.

The Bible itself says in Revelations that we will never know the date nor the hour. We don't know half the stuff they claim to know--I doubt we really know any of it.

God bless,
J

The Mayans said that the apocalypse would be in 2012... The bible says "He will come like a thief in the night." In my personal, Agnostic opinion, it's going to be when Christian's least expect it. The loonies that keep pushing a certain date are going to be proved wrong. Who was the guy that said it was going to happen in '80 something and wrote a book about it, then it didn't, so he wrote another book about another year? People are so susceptible...

For years and years people have been "predicting" the second coming for their own personal gain. God wants us to simply be prepared, and not think "OK, I have three more years to sin, and then I have to start repenting..."

That is the main reason God has not revealed the time of the second coming, and anyone who claims otherwise is a liar.
"Know man knoweth, neither the angels in heaven..."
