Hello,
I have a question in American sign language..........
I am learning the Bible verse
"For God so loved the world, the he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

Some of the words I can not find in sign language....like

Begotten
Whosoever
Should
Everlasting

If you know any of the signs for these words......... Can you please give me a website so I can see how to sign the words.

J.P. Has a good answer but I feel it could be interpreted clearer. Those words are hard to handle if you are following an English word structure. If you change it to ASL it will make better sense.

WORLD GOD LOVE SO-MUCH, HIMSELF (towards God) SACRIFICE (gave-up) WHO?(eyebrows raise) HIS BORN-ONLY SON (nod head)(body shift and open-hand point opposite side), WHY?(eyebrows raised), PEOPLE-ALL (hand sweep in front of body) BELIEVE (open-hand point to SON) DIE NOT (negate and add emphasis by shaking head) FOREVER LIFE HAVE (nod head)

The site here will help you wil the signs; that is a good site.

There is a big difference between British and American Sign Language. British Sign Language is more of a two handed process and is more awkward than American Sign which is basically one handed and for this reason ASL is much faster.

if you break the words down to something a second grader would know you will find the words. ASL is very simple.

SHOULD- is the same sign as must only your mouth says "OO"

Everlasting is the FOREVER sign

I am not sure on the other two.

aslpro.com is a good website or ask an interpreter. For everlasting I would use forever. Aslpro has religious signs as well as conversational and others.

Drop begotten or use 'BORN-ONLY'.
Substitute 'PEOPLE-ALL' for 'Whosoever'
Substitute 'DIE NOT future' for 'should not perish'
Substitute 'FOREVER' for 'everlasting'

I would gloss this (in ASL, not signed English, thus using Topic-Comment structure) as:

WORLD GOD LOVE, SON, BORN-ONLY, GOD GIVE past, WHY, PEOPLE-ALL BELIEVE DIE NOT future BUT FOREVER LIFE HAVE.

Also, for an ASL Browser, learn and love: http://commtechlab.msu.edu/SITES/ASLWEB/browser.htm

This is hands down the BEST place to look up signs.

Check the "Joy of Signing" book, it has signs for how to say two of them, "should" and "everlasting" and the common sense applications for the other 2 in the religion section.
