You are merely given possession of one, you don't own it. If you do own it, you'd have the title.

If it was given as a gift, then the title transfer document would say so, and after a few weeks you'd get your own title to that car.

Thus, you can't get rid of it legally, since legally it ain't yours.

If you have a letter from the original owner stating this car was a gift to you then you can sign it over and the buyer may be able to get a title for it you may have to get it notorized from the original owner though , I would suspect there is a lean on this car though .. no one just gives away a 2007 car .unless its a rich family member . did you loose the title or did you never get one .. something here doesn't sound right ..

If you legally own the car then you should be able to obtain a title in your name. Contact the office in your state that handles the titling of motor vehicles to determine how to replace the title.

I hate it when that happens. People are always giving me brand new cars without titles, on which there's most likely an outstanding loan, and I have to figure out what to do with them. Sometimes they even want me to sell it and split the money with them.

Right! That car's either hot or reported stolen so it can be turned into $$$.

If they can GET the title, they may buy it from you. Who's name is it in? Did you ever change the registration...?

your best bet is to get it in YOUR name and get a copy of the title and then sell it.

A dealer may be willing to do the work and buy the car without the title, but whomever name it is in will need to be around to sign off their ownership of the car...

the persons name that the title is needs to go to the title department and request a duplicate title. it would be very difficult to get rid of the vehicle whether selling it to a individual or trading it in ( i work at a dealership and we would not take in a trade in without a title) if you would like you can contact me and i might be able to help you out a little more.

Until you have the title it is not your car. You cannot sell it or get a loan against it or any other encumbrance. If you try, then you are guilty of a crime.
Contact whoever gave the car to you and tell them to take it back and give you cash instead.

NO,cause if you but a car like that the real owner could say the car is stollin and get it back the title shows the onwer of the vehical.

i own a repair shop and your not going to get rid of that one that easy ,there's more to this one,it being a 07 model and no title,if you are in possession of it at present time id get rid of it,no one gives a new car away without the title to it ,at least one that new,be careful you can get in a lot of trouble over this one, good luck with it.
