I agree with it but it is only part of the whole.
You have a valid point. Many are far to in the negative when the Bible is clear that we are more than conquerors, nobility, sealed with an anointing for the Holy Spirit.
Many Christians are just plain ole out of shape when it comes to fighting the good fight.

James 4:6 (NKJV) But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.
"Proverbs 6:16-17 (NKJV) "These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,"
Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV) "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate."
Proverbs 11:2 (NKJV) "When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom."
Proverbs 13:10 (NKJV) "By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom."
Proverbs 16:5 (NKJV) "Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished."
Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) "Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall."
Proverbs 29:23 (NKJV) "A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor."

You are proof texting here.
First problem: In 2Cor. 7:4, Paul the Apostle is defending his ministry against the legalists who challenged his apostleship. He is writing a personal letter to the Church at Corinth. He is not talking to all believers in that verse...just those in that church. The second verse you quote, 2Cor. 5:17, tells us, yes that we are new creatures, but we are responsible to other people in that we have been given the ministry of reconciliation...to be ambassadors for Him. That isn't a power position. It's a servant leadership one...just like Christ Himself. This leads me to the last verse. You twist this one.
It says that we can do all things THROUGH CHRIST WHO strengthens us...(Phillipians 4:13) NOT in our own strength.
Jesus also said..in John 15:5, without me you can do nothing... so I like the poem, it reflects James 4:6.
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble...Jesus was a VERY humble servant leader...that's what a Christian should be.

Yes, I agree with this poem, but I don't cry and I don't whine and I don't walk around with my head down. I am a happy Christian. I try to brighten the day of as many people as I can each and every day.
I think this poem is beautiful. I think it is just a way to help nonbelievers relate to believers - to help them see that we would be just like them if it weren't for the grace of God.

i totally like this poem!
the reason i say this is this :
`~ yes we are free from sin, but we are still not perfect - the writer of the poem is saying "i'm nothing without You Lord. i give You all the glory!"
further more, Christ tells us to pray humbly in the corner with our heads down. quietly so that others will not say how "pious" we are or how righteous we are!
we can rejoice in His goodness and we can live happily (this poem isnt saying that we cant!) but we need to always be humbled by His goodness, by His mercy. He loves us so much that He died for us, so it isnt anything we can take credit for!

I am Christian and I enjoy today that I live in. Despite the struggles that I have. . .I love life. . .I love where I am. Every struggle I have had as only led me to more wisdom and a greater strength. I have learned to not only praise God on the good days but to praise even louder in the valleys. I am blessed and because of that I enjoy today.:)

I agree with it 100%
Pride, and judging others is not what we are called to do.
We are called to serve and when we fall, we are called to repent.
When we start to think we are perfect, we set ourselves up to do bad things. We end up justifying our sins in order to continue to claim perfection.
Being Christian does not make us better than anyone else, Christian or not.
Peace!

This is not a pessimistic poem. I like it and agree with it... It shows us how great God is compared to us, it aims to make us understand how much we need God and how lost and insignificant we would be without him. If you studied in school a literary trend called SYMBOLISM you'd understand it better.
