Joseph Smith gave the priesthood to black men because they could prove through family history records that they were related to Aaron from the Bible, therefore, they were legitamate heirs to the priesthood. Joseph Smith did not give the priesthood to every black male that asked for it. He would not have given it to those he did, if they did not have the proper documentation.
The revelation given to Brigham Young was upheld by other Prophets until a different revelation was given, they therefore upheld the revelation and the word given to them by God.
Neither Joseph or Brigham were going against God. The revelation had not been given when Joseph gave the priesthood to the black men he gave it to, and Brigham did not give the priesthood to black men because of the revelation.

There was no revelation given that blacks couldnot hold the priesthood. I don't know why this is.

Tanya in Texas is the only one who answered truthfully. I would be saying the same thing she did If I answered the question.

BTW Penguin and Mr peepers are both anti-mormons, all their answers are biased and hatefully one-sided.

Have a great day!:)

Joseph goofed up. Brigham Young set things "right" by nullifying their priesthood.

Both men were never 'of God', and had non-believers roughed up or murdered if they stated otherwise.

They don't do that anymore, unless the Danites are still around...
