It is realtively normal. When I was younger I got that itch, its a certain type of heat rash. They suggested using a cortizone cream or you could try benadryl to help with the itch. Also, I found that rubbing cornstarch on the itch really helped for instant relief. Also try going in the bed for a shorter period of time.

your skin is just dry. buy a special tanning lotion that they sell in the salon, this kind works better because its made for tanning in a bed. it doesnt really matter which kind, just dont get the tingly kind. ask the ladies in there which they perfer. use it before and after you tan, and when you get out of the shower as well. the itching should cease in about a day.

Your skin is probably really dry. Moisturize!!! Moisturized skin tans better anyways. Make sure when you are tanning you are using a tanning lotion also, they help keep your skin from drying out too much.

It could be any number of things.

Tanning dries out your skin because it's burning it. You could be allergic to the tanning lotions. The tanning bed could be unsanitary... other half-naked chicks lie in there too, you never know what you could have caught.

I can't believe people do this to themselves... read this month's Cosmopolitan magazine and a nice story on a pretty young girl who gave herself skin cancer.

This is extremely normal and doesn't last for more than 2 days. Your skin is dry, try to keep lotion on as much as you can. The more you lubricate your skin the better.

Hang in there it will go away and yes it sucks. I feel your pain.

If you're itchy it probably means your skin is hella dry. You need to moisturize very often when you tan that much.

It's sounds like dry skin, which is normal when you are tanning. After every shower, slather yourself with good lotion, it should help a lot. Good luck!

make sure u are adequately moisturizing your skin after tanning, because tanning tends to dry it out, & that`s probably why u are itching!!!
