why would you cut back ? mountain dew is the nectar of the gods. if you check with pepsi, i'm sure they'd tell you it's perfectly safe. they would know best, right ? i think an energy drink would probably be better for your morning drink, and kind of switch back and forth during the day. this might help your tummy problems.

Good for you, no. But if your body can tolerate the sugar and caffeine without getting really jittery, drink as much as you want. I used to drink between 12-16 Mt. Dews a day in high school, and in college it was free from the cafeteria. (Part of room and board). Great way to write late night papers! I stayed slim-ish, but managed to put on 10 pounds. In my mid-20's I quit Dew cold turkey and surprisingly I didn't get withdrawal headaches. I switched to sparkling water so I could still get the fizz fix without the sugar and caffeine.
Good luck, it can be done!

Wow! talk about doing the dew! you must be really good at extreme sports! I saw on TV that folks that "Do the Dew" great snowboarders, sky-divers and other extreme sports.
You can stop drinking it, but you risk losing the edge. Well... maybe you can switch to Red Bull, I see on tv the folks who drink red bull are great at extreme sports and it may be more gentle on your stomach.
Careful, I have learned that some TV ads are not true. Late in life I learned that women who use tampax are not always riding bikes, swimming and constantly smiling. It's quite the opposite. So beware!

Mountain Dew should be avoided... it's very high in caffeine. Not that any soda is healthy, this is probably the least healthy. How about adding water to you liquid diet, and choosing a better soft drink, and consuming less of it?

Mountain Dew isn't safe in any quantity, and the volume you are consuming could be fatal. MD is heavy in caffeine, which can cause your heart to stop in large doses.
You should switch to water or fruit juice.

You really shouldn't be drinking that much...I sometimes feel guilty for drinking 3 20 oz. bottles of diet dew a day. Not to mention, I used to work with a girl who's boyfriend drank a similar amount of dr. pepper a day...he developed the equivalant of abeer gut.
