When you go to the dentist to pay MONEY for any treatment that you need done do you still need ID, social security card, etc?

A health care provider would need some form of identification in case of prescribing medication, etc. If you falsified your identity (for example age), it might impact your treatment.

At my office, if cash is paid prior to treatment, I would not require SSN.

I needed one form of photo ID because they needed to have me come in for 'registration' first. They wouldn't do anything for me unless I had an exam and X-rays first. I paid $90 in cash BEFORE the exam. I had nothing else with me. Just a driver's license and money. I assume they need the ID in case they kill you (I'm only half joking)
