I like to coat mine with Pappy's seasoning (it is a dry rub) and let it sit in the refrigerator for 2 days before I grill it. mmm good stuff!

I had tri-tip the first time after coming to Ca.I had eaten brisket while living in South west La.they are about the same,except the tri-tip I had was drier.I bet the rub does add a nice flavor thru and thru.Good question...

Yes, we eat tri-tips here on a regular basis. We fix them numerous ways; fried with batter and make a gravy and serve with fried potatoes; Cut into strips and sear, place in a casserole dish, cover with onions, green peppers, lemon slices and a seasoned catsup sauce bake at 350F for 1 hr; Broil like a steak and serve with baked potato and green salad, just to name a few.

OH MY! my brother makes that all the time. its sooooo yummy. he injects seasonings and stuff into it but i dont know what it is...all i know is that its awesome! yum yum!..but ill have to tell him about pappy's seasoning.
