In my new house there is a cubbyhole over the fireplace designed for a television. However, I am not planning on putting a T.V. there and was wondering what should I do with it. I am not crazy about the idea of just putting decorative stuff in it, but I figure just having a contractor cover it would be a waste. Any other ideas?

A fish tank with either fish or plants in it would work. A stained glass art piece, suspended in the center, with a light behind it would be awesome and a conversation piece.

I wouldn't go with a fish tank it would be hard to clean in a cubbyhole and they really are heavy when filled up with water an fish, just use a plant in a long short basket and bay be some of the candles that wok on batteries that would look nice and you can change it with the seasons

Cover the hole with a large picture or painting.
