I desperately need help...my minister has backed out on me and I need to find someone quick and inexpensive. I'm in the northeast TN area. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can't find another minister, get a loved elder or a trusted friend get ordained online and perform the ceremony for you. That way, there's no hard feelings about having a last minute replacement that you don't know, and the person who is preforming the ceremony will acutally be someone who loves you.

Good luck and congratulations.

The first question is why did he back out? Does he not agree with your relationship?

Get married beforehand at the courthouse.
If getting married at a church is important to you, start driving around to find a minister. Most will require some premarital counseling, but you should be able to get it done before your wedding date.

This happened to me. Well, I fired the minister at our rehersal dinner the night before. Fortunately we were leggally wed a few months before and we were calling this our "public wedding". We just had a member of the family step in and read for us. He ws so nervous, he read the ring part twice. It just made it that much better.
My husband is a Christian, but from a different country with different wedding traditions. When the minister said he wouldn't do things that way, we fired him. It was about the unity candle, we wanted to leave the individual ones burning after we lit the unity candle. He said that that was wrong and we needed to blow out the individual ones to symbolize being one. While I see his point, the individuality is what makes us compatible with eachother and to deny that is wrong.

Stepping off of my soapbox now...

Alright girl... don't panic! I know I will be panicing 18 days until my wedding, and saying don't panic only makes it worse. But seriously hon, there are ministers from other churches, who if you explained your situation to, I'm sure they'd understand. Also, you can ask a judge to come out. There are alot of people who are everyday people and able to do weddings. The owner of the place I rented for our wedding oculd do it if all else failed...

not to be rude to the church but will u receive the money
already paid to the minster? and if not why not? if push
comes to shove than u can have a justice of the peace
preside over ur wedding . i know it is not the same
but it will do . and maybe later in the future u can have
a minister marry u and renew ur vows... best of luck
and many blessings....

Take a deep breath, relax.....it's just a small hurdle...it will work out fine! Now...this is when you have to draw of family and friends in a time of crisis....does ANYONE in your family attend church regulary?? Grandma, Aunt..cousins, best friends parents? Maybe you've gone to church with them when you were little. Go to one of them and explain the situation...they should be able to call their minister and he should be willing to help...the tricky party is going to be making sure he has the date free. Devote the day to this today....you need to get this settled ASAP. Call everyone you know who attends church and ask them to contact their pastor to see if he's available on your wedding day.

Just have a family member or a good friend perform the ceremony. It's cheap and I'm sure they would be honored. It also makes the ceremony more intimate.

Call your local marriage registry court records office for your city/county and ask for a marriage deputy. Or you can try and get a friend a one-time marriage permit for your wedding. Good luck! Google it!

Go to the courthouse the day before and get married and just have a ceremony with someone reading what you want.
