Do any liberals know what the Koran and sunnah say about, women, Christians and jews, murder or theft?
Every political argument i have had with a liberal ignores the religous implications with regards to iraq, afghanistan, israel and Sudan among others as if they are either ignorant of the muslim implications or dismiss them because they are inconvenient compared to the angle they wish to pursue?

This is the typical liberal answer which is a non answer really.

"Let me ask you this, what does your disagreement with their religion have to do with what we are doing in Iraq? You think your way is better so let's force it upon them? Their religion, their choice. We should not be there. We're not exactly the idealistic nation we think we are. We have our own issues so we need to get off our high horse and fix our own country and stop trying to police the world. It's not our job or our business. "

liberals try actually making an argument on subject.

someone asked why i call the typical answer a non answer: simple, I asked what do you know about the Koran? ask yourself, was an answer given to that question?

" Do you know what the Bible says about women, liars, adulterers, disrespectful children, gays, slaves, non-believers, and men who wear mixed fabrics?"

You mean the OLD testament? the new testament is the christian fullfillment of the old so Jesus' teachings are paramount. I think the worst he said on some subjects is that they are sins and should be avoided. No killing people, or stoning for adultery etc.

You make atypical relativist argument.

I've read about half of the Koran, so far. It's a fairly boring repititious book with many outdated concepts and lame arguments for the existence of a god. Islam is no better than any of the other religions. They are all just superstition.

I consider myself a liberal, but I'm not represented by how you portray liberals. And I'm not really sure what you are getting at with your question.

I agree that the Islamic superstition does affect the political climate in the Middle East, just as the Christian superstition affects politics here. I do think that the US is going about things the wrong way in the Middle East, largely because of the president's ignorance of the people there and their culture. There are also other factors to consider, including financial, strategic, and political pressures in those countries. Religious superstition is rampant there, but the level varies from country to country.

Well I do not fully grasp how opposing the Koran Burning might guard the troops... I see it as simply the reverse. I am adverse to the Koran Burning considering that it's essentially flawed. It is a holy e-book identical to the bible, torah, and so forth. It manner plenty to a few individuals and total the American troops are combating Islam.. they're combating terrorists. Therefore the Koran Burning cannot move with troops.

Radical Islamists have hijacked the Koran and misinterpreted things that were meant to protect the rights of women into tools of oppression.

I asked about Sharia law and got an amazing (but very long) answer taht really taught me a lot. Here is a link to my question and to the answer I received:

Hmm.... I know it's a fantasy book much like the bible. Funny how it ok for the bible to advocate murder of Jews, homosexuals, etc but when you are the target it's just plain wrong. Please. I thought it was you Cons that didn't want to do any 'nation building' and I remember Clinton being slammed by the right when he attacked Afghanistan. Sounds like hypocrisy to me.

I've read it three times.

I've since found a better interpretation. I'll have to get back with you when I finish reading it. All the same, I'm still finding it to be the same load of bollocks as previous interpretations.

We cannot go to Iraq on the basis of confronting their primitive and violent religion when we have our own.

Koran 8:60

And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to terrorize thereby the enemy of Allah.

8:12
I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.

When you quote me, you should at least give me credit.

And the answer was a good one.

Added: I have read it twice. There's your answer. But you don't really want an answer, do you? You want to push your agenda.
