My life was changed spiritually when I seen God working through people to help me in a time of need. It all came together at Christmas. We didn't have a lot under our tree but the kids were happy, they didn't fight, or yell and scream. Everyone was in good spirits. After seeing how little we had, but it brought my family closer, I vowed that I would be faithful, and return to church again and lead by example for my children. And words can not justify how I felt that day, but I knew God was there with me.

I always thought when my father passes away, I would be a complete wreck...nervous breakdown, not able to function. Well, as I watched him take his last breath in the hospital, a strange sense of relief came over me, (sadness and tears, yes), but a strange feeling that I never thought possible. I had an inner strength that evolved. I did not go completely postal, as I thought I would....in fact, that night, I had gathered the best thoughts of my dad I could....and wrote a piece that I actually had the strength to read at his funeral. I loved my dad more than life itself, and I miss him terribly. I truly believe it was the spiritual encounter between me and my dad that made his passing easier for me than I ever thought possible.

It wasn't a vision or a dream--I've had a relationship with God for about 6 years, and since then, when I've read the Bible and been at church, God has showed me things in my life that aren't good. I've acted differently when I'm at church vs being at work; I've been telling little lies a lot that have been easier and easier to tell; I think that I'm something special because I volunteer a lot more than others in the church. To me, that's been what has changed my life the most.

Labor and seeing my children's faces moments after birth. Those were two spiritual experiences that changed my life forever. I never knew I could love somebody so much and thank God so much for them. Everyone who knows me knows I'm crazy about my kids. But labor, definately. I never knew I could feel so much pain. I also never knew that there was a pain out there that a painkiller couldn't stop, lol. So I had to do some serious praying. And I honestly prayed for a c section as I was in labor for two days and had gone into labor after already being awake for more than 16 hours. Basically, I was awake three days in a row. I finally got the c section and my mom has some amusing memories (mainly me drugged up saying "This feels great!" as they do what they do).

My most spiritual experience was the day I realized I was an atheist. It completely changed my life.

The most spiritual experience for me was waking up and realizing that all religions are a lie. I can't begin to tell you how that made me feel.
