I'd guess that your bath water is TOO HOT! Cool it off a bit and see if it helps!
Good luck!

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but is your bathtub really clean? leaning against a dirty tub can irritate your skin. if it is spotless, then the only other reason it may be is (surprisingly) you are having some kind of minor reaction to whatever material the tub is made out of....if there is fiberglass in it then that can make you itch like crazy. try taking showers only for a bit and if it helps, you have your answer.

ps. if it were a reaction to soap or whatever, then your whole body would be itchy, not just your back. that's why i think it's the leaning against the tub is where the problem is :)

You might not be getting all the soap off. You also might want to use a bath oil instead for the bath instead of soap. Don't forget to use a good lotion RIGHT after you get out of the tub. This seals in the moisture our skin really needs.

Stop taking baths, or maybe you're not rinsing off very well and the soap is irritating your skin. This is the funniest thing I've heard all day also...LOL!!!

sounds like your bath water may be too hot and is drying your skin out causing you to itch like crazy* Use a good moisturizer when you get out of the bath* and perhaps add a couple of drops of baby oil to your bath water...it will absorb into your dry skin*

i think what happens is the dirt is slightly wet but hasnt been scrubbed off so it gives that itchy/tingly feeling. i would get a scrubbing brush they sell near the hygene things at the store esp. for your back. i dont think its the soap. its most likely just more spots that need to be scrubbed.

If you live in the city your water may be very cholrinated. This is especially true if you happen to be near the outlet from the water treatment plant. They have to put in enough cholrine for it to last to the distal locations (it evaporates).

Itching is usually caused by dry skin.

make sure you wash your hair first then your back with soap. so you can wash off any shampoo or conditioner that lingered.

also make sure your washing your washing your whole back and getting all the dirt off!
