Considering both of you are at Benning, no. If one of you was elsewhere, you could have applied for reassignment. You will not be eligible to change duty stations unless you volunteer for an overseas assignment such as Korea and are accepted (very unlikely mid-enlistment right now) or re-enlist for a different duty station.
You're just going to have to buck up. Benning is not that bad, and you've only given it three or so months. Get a car and drive to Atlanta on the weekends. Do something with your lives.

Absolutely not. Current army policy is to station soldiers at their 1st duty station for at least 24 months, excepting overseas deployments. After 24 months a soldier can submit a DA 4187 requesting a Permanant Change of Station (PCS) or call their respective Branch manager.

The answer is: NO, the Army requires you have 1 year time on station before they can involuntary move you and you must be there 24 months before you can voluntary ask to move. As others have said, Columbus is a nice area and close to alot of things but if I were you and again this depends on your job, your Husbands job he might be deploying soon to the middle east, so get prepared now. Good luck and thanks for serving

Sorry but that isn't an option. You will most likely deploy out of Benning within 6 months to be honest. Try to enjoy Columbus while you are there though. Yeah right outside of the base is a **** hole, but the strip isn't bad. There is a restaurant there that I can't recall the name of, but it is a really nice Irish place where they brew their own beer right there.

you must be on station for at least 12 months, and more often 24, before you can request a transfer.. but the Command has to authorize it, and most won't because that willleave an empty billet. so unless they are overmanned, doubtful that you will be able to rotate out early.

Probably not....most assignments carry at least a one year commitment with them. It is too costly for the military to keep shuffling people around.
I was personally in the Air force, and they had a program, where you could "advertise" at other bases, and if there was a person who was willing to "trade" with you, at no cost to the AF, and the move was made will each person involved took ordinary leave, they would allow it. Of course, both individuals had to have the same type of job. They might have a similar program in the Army.

sometimes you can do a "station switch" with someone else that doesn't want to be where they are at. we're at fort gordon and we dont like it either..haha but luckily we are getting moved in the next 2 months! that helps..haha
I suggest just to keep your head up and hang in there..its hard to switch.
