...Was John having a "VISION"??...or did he just eat some BAD HUMUS before he went to bed??

ps...I'd have an easier time with it being "a vision" if I hadn't myself once had a dream where Jesus came to me, pulled a breifcase out of his robe and handed me an application. I honestly think TACOS had more to do with that.

Biblical scholars readily admit that no one knows who wrote the Book of Revelation in the Bible. Most people do not realize that because they've not been told since the clergy believe that it's easier for people to just believe that some man named John wrote it.

Clearly it was just a vision. That doesn't make it from a god in the least. There is also a book of revelation thought to be written by a man named "Peter". It was tossed out as a candidate for Canonization because it was believed to be too lenient and the architects of Christianity wanted their god's wrath to be terrible. In "Peter's" version if the people in heaven asked god to forgive everyone in Hell he would.
It was the people who eventually became known as the Catholics that determined what went into the Bible and the Protestants eventually simply took that Bible and tossed out a few books they didn't like, but called the Catholic church the 'whore of Babylon'. My question is why would they take the Catholics word for what should be canonized if it was the 'whore of Babylon' that created the initial canon?

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Bible predictions of things to happen in the future confirm the inspiration of Scripture as they come to pass. Notice the following examples of fulfilled Bible prophecies:

A. Four world empires to arise: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8).
B. Cyrus to be the warrior to capture Babylon (Isaiah 45:1-3).
C. After Babylon's destruction, it would never be inhabited again (Isaiah 13:19, 20; Jeremiah 51:37).
D. Egypt would never again have a commanding position among the nations (Ezekiel 29:14, 15; 30:12, 13).
E. Earth-shaking calamities and fear toward the end of time (Luke 21:25, 26).
F. Moral degeneracy and decline of spirituality in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

A. The 66 books of the Bible were written:
1. On three continents.
2. In three languages.
3. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, scientists, attorneys, an army general, fishermen, priests, and a physician).
4. Over a period of about 1,500 years.
5. On the most controversial subjects.
6. By people who, in most cases, had never met.
7. By authors whose education and background varied greatly.

B. Yet, though it seems totally inconceivable,
1. The 66 books maintain harmony with each other.
2. Often new concepts on a subject are expressed, but these concepts do not undermine what other Bible writers say on the same subject.

One of the signs of a true prophet is that God speaks to him in visions or dreams. Numbers 12:6 says, "And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream."

Another sign of a true prophet is that what they say is 100% accurate with the Bible. Read Deuteronomy 13:1-4

I find Revelation the most difficult book of the New Testament to understand to be honest as it is full of synbol and allegory, although I think that dream and vision can mean the same thing here.

Yeah, Primoa said it right.
Always remember-Revelations was "inspired by God". Its a final word for Christians and Jews. Parts may be difficult to grasp-but it is key scripture for today. Learn it.

A+, NiceNCool1! Perhaps your 'revelation' will shed some light on dogmatism.

John said he was in the spirit on the Lord's day -- he did not say he was dreaming or hallucinating.

If you believe in the truth of Gods word, yes. And it will help give you meaning and purpose.

If you dont have faith in Gods truth, then youll have no hope of attaining salvation from him.
