Absolutely. You should place your destiny in God's hands, not a pack of cards.

It is without a doubt against good common sense. Sylvia Browne and John Edward are two of the biggest frauds (and douchbags) on the face of the earth.

Psychics deal with what the Bible calls familiar spirits. Those are evil spirits that are familiar with them. And you. They will tell you what you want to hear, (and they know what that is), to deceive you. The Bible warns against consulting with them several times in the Old Testament. As a Christian, the only spirit we should be in contact with is the Holy Spirit, the one who dwells within us. One Old Testament king was stricken with leprosy because he did not pray to God, but consulted the magicians and sorcerers and mediums. Be careful.

God says that anyone who practices this, speaking though crystal ball, tarot cards, palm reading, or astrology will be lost.

Read Isaiah 47:12-14

Sorry to hear about your loss, and I'm sure it may seem comforting to think that maybe you could talk to him again. But it is not right. You need to find your comfort in the Lord. Give Him your heart, follow His ways, and someday soon you will meet your loved ones again.

Yes, God says, in the Bible, that He will oppose and cut off everyone who does this sort of thing.

Lev 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God.

Lev 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad and understand how you miss him (I miss my Dad too). A major part of Jesus job was "to bind up the broken hearted". Why don't you turn from your sin and ask Jesus to be your Savior and your Lord and ask Him to heal your broken heart?

Isaiah 8:19 When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Seek God first.

Yes it is, God says not to have anything to do with those who deal with spirits and divinations. back in old testament times, many where called prophets, they interpreted dreams and predicted the future, (supposings), and he often revealed them as false, jut like so called physics today, We often want to know so much we fall for the "parlor game" antics of weaknesses in human nature. No one can know th future, and the dead are not floating around waiting to talk. But there are Satan's demons who can transform themselves for deceitful purposes to keep you from the truth. As long as Satan can distract you from knowing the one true God, and his son Jesus Christ, therefore not understanding the truth of eternal life, Satan wins that battle, and there are a million false beliefs and ideas to try and keep you occupied. The occult has spell bound many for years, but give no satisfaction in the end. Go to God in Prayer, open your heart to his word, and he will reveal what you need to know, he promises this to all who come to him. It may not be ask mysterious and alluring, but it's real, it is the truth.

I wish a Psychic could let me see my dad, but I know it's not true. No one can see into someones future except God and once you die you either go to heaven or hell you don't roam around waiting for someone to call your number so that you can be seen.

Psychics get their power from the devil. I don't think Christians should have any part in it. The Bible tells us to stay away from things like that.
No one can tell you how your father is. His soul is not here to answer. It will only be released on Judgment Day.

The bible clearly condemns this practice.

"There should not be found in you anyone who . . . employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah.”—Deut. 18:10-12.
