The most difficult lesson learned is always without question at least from a male perspective, a balance of one's ego, and the expression of surrender to God's will. These two things are always at odds, and from a personal viewpoint I think that they have the most difficult lessons in a man's spiritual growth. The concept of sin, the concept of forgiveness, charity, Christian spirit are easy things to learn, but this putting up with something or taking your own best interest and putting it in second place is difficult..

I think the most difficult thing and the reason it took so long to become a Christian, is the fact if I accepted that God was real I would also have to except that Satan was real. It took some study to discover as a Christian we have power over the devil, and can live without fear of him. I thank God he saved me and has shown me His awesome power in my life.
Forgiveness of others who have come against you is one of the most difficult things to do after becoming a Christian, it takes a lot of prayer to get that one, and it still can be a stumbling block at times.

I used to be Catholic, but not Atheist due to the fact i found the bible is contradictory. Most people say god is prefect, but in Genesis Adam and Eve are created in God's image. Since Adam and Eve sinned, God would have sin in him originally, so he isn't perfect. Also, God say to not kill (10 commandments) but wipes out the human race with a flood.

For me, accepting Christianity in whole. I celebrete Christmas, and so forth, but I was totally against the whole jesus bit. I still refuse to accept Christianity, I'd rather study any other religion, my most resent being wicca/druidism. So yea if a real Christian knew what I was doing, I'd be laying right next to Jesus, buried face down if I may add...lol

That I am not in control of anything. That I should have faith in God and give him control of my life. It is something that we all struggle with at one time or another. I have found that whenever I give God control of any situation in my life, it works out better. It calms me down in bad situations and gives me joy in good times. I think that be relying of God instead of myself, I am allowing myself to succeed or fail; while still trying my best. It takes the pressure off whenever God is control. Things do not always come out the way I want, but they always come out right. I am still working on this one, but it is getting easier.

Following the edicts of Jesus.

The first one I have a problem with is asking for what I need, I'm use to be self-reliant.

The first lesson? that you are not as bad as you think you are but not as good as you can be!

Again the first lesson? that no matter what you did and no matter what you were, you must now start to accept and love yourself in Christ.
