and my pastor said he was so disgusted with all the blatant homosexuality he has been seeing. Over the weekend there were two church concerts at a church and he said when he was there he saw so many displays of homosexuality he said he had to speak out about it. He saw men dressing and acting like females. He even saw some lesbians. He said homoesexuality is unnatural and same sexes shouldnt lust after each other. He said hetereosexual Christians should be disgusted too and not condone that type of thing. He even gave us scriptures from the Bible about it. He said he didnt care if anyone got mad at him just because he was speaking the truth. He said he isnt homophobic but he is God doesnt like something he is going to speak out about it becasue its his duty as Gods servent to speak out about hings God doesnt like.So I just want to know everyone elses thoughts.

Excuse some of you all Im doing is asking a question and telling you what my pastor spoke out about yesterday. Do I condone homosexuality? NO, but I dont judge homosexuals because they are the way they are. If you dont believe in what the pastor said then thats just fine. Eveyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions.

Your pastor was right to bring this up. Much of liberal Christianity has welcomed homosexuality in the name of "judge not," just so they look better in the eyes of the public.

Your pastor did what all Christians are supposed to do: he saw evil, and he called it evil, and he warned other Christians about the evil. Your pastor isn't hear to make friends, at the expense of God's laws, he's here to lead Christ's followers.

He apparently didn't call for mass homophobia or violence. We're not called to hate them, but to love them with Christ's love. That means if we are confronted with it, we speak against it. If we are debated with by homosexuals, we are to combat their opinions with God's laws.

However, as with anyone else caught up in habitual sin, if they are repentent, we are to welcome them & support them in their new lives as Christians.

Talk to your pastor if you're having a problem understanding why homosexuality is wrong in God's eyes. Yahoo certainly isn't the best place for objective opinions.

This is a very touchy subject today. I'm assuming the homosexual people were not in the bands but were in the audience? Many people come to Christian concerts because they like the music and they don't feel comfortable going to church. Some people do not give up all of their sins when they start out on their walk, if they have accepted the Lord. If they have received the Holy Spirit, He will deal with them. Otherwise, consider them as yet to be converted.

Regarding your pastor, he has a right to express his opinions. As a pastor, he needs to be careful to put forward a balanced message that reflects both the love of God for these people as well as God's standards of holiness. He is correct to point out that while God loves them, they must turn away from it and all other sins to enter Heaven. He also has a responsibility to tell his congregation what is written in the Bible.

He is not likely homophobic since the word phobia has to do with having an irrational persistent fear. You say he was disgusted, which is not the same as being afraid. (Yes, I know the homosexuals use the wrong word)

Wow. Your question is challenging. The answers are worse.

First, the Bible is very clear about homosexuality. It is condemned as a perversion of God's intent for our sexuality. But in church circles lately, some preachers have promoted it as THE sin, putting it high above other sins like gluttony, drunkenness, infidelity, and other sins that are more common inside the church. Preachers sometimes use it as a tool to make their parishioners feel more comfortable, because they know they're not doing THAT, and so it makes them feel better about themselves. Which is exactly the WRONG thing for a preacher to do. He ought to be preaching to the flock about things that THEY need to hear.

So, while the words your preacher is using may have some basis in Biblical Truth, the whole diatribe makes me very uncomfortable. God doesn't condone homosexual relationships. It is a sin. But it is a sin just like any other, and we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Any attempt to make homosexuality out to be worse or more disgusting than any other kind of sin is a perversion of God's Truth.

It sounds kinda perverted anyway - the way he presented it makes me wonder if he's struggling with sexual issues in his own life. But it also could just be an attempt to make the church-members feel self-righteous and complacent. If this is the case, it is an abusive use of the church pulpit to raise money, and is disgusting - far worse than any sexual acts of his targets. I'm just very uncomfortable with the whole thing.

Well, I believe that we live in a Beautiful country protected by The Constitution. Whether or not we are preachers, pastors, or teachers, or even Mom's, we have the equal right to express our own opinions about different subjects. We are taught to not pass judgement on anyone whether about sexuality preferance, religion preference, race or color. There are many things written in The Bible that explain how One is suppose to live. So why say to another human being "you shouldn't this or you shouldn't that", the honest to GOD truth is we are all living under THE ALMIGHTY'S mercy. That pastor is preaching about how he personally feels about homosexuality and then going straight to the bible scripture to back up his words. Which is all fine and dandy, but if he preached about all the other bahaviors that weren't exceptible to the Lord, he'd be preaching all day! I'm not at all trying to take anyone's side, but he also has not lived as a homosexual, and does not have the information about them to make so many accusations such as "it's not natural." Alot of us human beings do unnatural things! None of us are perfect. To waste time preaching about his own personal opinions is not teaching the congregation about what Jesus taught. Living as a gay. What does that really mean? Can they not succeed? Can they not earn a degree? Have a family? Are they hear to be ostersized and feel terrible their entire lives because the next person has wrongly judged them?
I would think a pastor would be one of the first to realize that a comment like the one he made should be followed up with the plain statement that although GOD does not approve of homesexuality, he also doesn't approve of hating, judging or mistreating homosexuals. As a matter a fact, we are all taught to love All, not to pick and choose who we love but to appreciate all mankind.
If I was the pastor at your church, my main objective would to make sure everyone left my service feeling loved, not ostersized. That is true love. Your pastor could've used an example saying, "if someone befriended you who just happend to save your life, and later you found out they were homesexual, would them having a different sexual preference take away from the fact that they had saved your life?" You may not choose to keep their friendship, but know for sure that you'll die knowing that it was a homesexual whom saved your very own life.
Me personally, I want to smile and know that GOD has taken good care of me with absolutely no judgement in my heart about anyone. If it is GOD'S will to put a homosexual in my path to save my life, I rather a homosexual then nobody at all. Yes, the man that saved my life goes against what I believe, but look at all the people that went against what Jesus Christ believed and taught others to believe. Did people not judge Him? Was he not persecuted for it? Did Jesus himself not stand, and eat with sinners. Having love and compassion in one's heart is the one and only true message! His blood has saved us all from our wrongful deeds and behaviors. My question to that pastor is why is he speaking opinions about sexuality, and not the truth about GOD> Loving, forgiving, merciful, and kind.

Your statement is based upon your churches interpretation of the bible. My husband is the son of a preacher and has read the Bible front to back many times. My Grandmother was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years.
I have asked all of them and gotten the same response from all three. It does not say anywhere in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong or a sin. Also Why would God make people gay if it was wrong to be that way?
And as far as your Pastor feeling that he has some right to speak on what he thinks God wants. First unless God himself came down and spoke to the man and told him what he wanted him to do and say, then he is just assuming based on his interpretation of the Bible. Second Your Pastor needs to reread the Bible because he missed an important verse, Judge not lest ye be judged. In other words, We as people do not have a right to pass judgment on others and if we do then God will Judge us for our sin of judgment. God is the only one who may judge us.

It is so sad to hear of Pastors misusing their power to force their personal views on their congregation. And I feel for them on their judgment day! I pray for those people to learn the true love of God and open their eyes to their brothers without judgment.

Ah, the oldest trick in the book. Hiding behind the Bible to cover your own personal racist views against homosexuals. Hmm...Sometimes I wonder if most of these male priests were ever raped by men when they younger. Nowadays, I'd believe anything. Who knows truly on what was printed in the original Bible a long time ago? The words in the Bible over the centuries has been chopped up, diced, and sliced by homophobes like this pastor of yours, and then they fill in the blanks with their own personal viewpoints on how the world should be according to "God's" eyes, then serve to the masses, all the while having no clue on what their eating.

Jesus frowns on divorce, yet a recent magazine article states a huge percentage of Protestant clergy are divorced.

So, if the clergy can spit in Jesus face, I guess anyone can defy God or Jesus and still call themselves a Christian.

Let's start with that issue before going on to homosexuals. Let's start with divorce among the clergy.

Oh and which of the 10 commandements forbids homosexuality. Those are the only edicts from God I am aware of.

Everything else comes from man. Man, who authorizes divorce despite Jesus CLEAR edict about the only way you can do that.

Nearing the End of Time

All of this only goes to show that we are living in the time that Bible writers foresaw. "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthank-ful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." 2 Timothy 3:1-4. The rise in homosexuals' popularity and acceptance indicates that the people of this world are moving further and further from God.

In light of current events, we might wonder how far things will digress. Certainly, in all this confusion there is a call to seek God. While we should love sinners and help them find peace and eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, we must not fall prey to the falsehoods of homosexual activists. The Bible clearly defines homosexuality as sin. Let's compassionately lead homosexuals into a saving relationship with Jesus while steadfastly maintaining the truths of God's Word.

You Pastor including the belief of your Church is wrong on the their concept of homosexuals. Your Pastor lack understanding on the bible which is lust about homosexual that they are not to be christian. Is it a sin to be born that way?Because they were born that way, they are no longer human beings?.Did God said to your Pastor that he do not love homosexuals? No. Your Pastor is very wrong. He is committing sin by excluding the homosexuals to be Christians and by hating them.

What is prohibited by God is the relationship of a man to a man or a woman to a woman because man is for woman and woman is for a man. Both can be friends but on sexual relationship, they are prohibited because it is a sin from God.

your Pastor is no good Pastor. He is a false Pastor to hate homosexuals.

Your pastor is right..it is in the BIBLE....God has a right to judge and frown upon people.
Although..no MORTAL person has a right to judge anybody...ask your pastor about belief and forgiveness vs. their own personal opinions.
