I know it is a hebrew alphabet and number

I think you mkean Psalms 119, not 117

In the original Hebrew, each of the 22 sections of Psalms 119 begin with a different letter of the alphabet, and that letter is used heavily throughout the section. (Almost like "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers" uses "P"'s)

The Psalm was originally used to help young children learn their alphabet in school. The "jod" above verse 73 simply means the letter being taught in that section.

Psalm 119 is an acrostic, or was supposed to be. Each section begins with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. (English spelling)
