they are loacted on the soles of my feet near the balls of my foot.

You don't say where on your feet. If they're on the joint behind the big toe, you could have bunions. If you wear high heels constantly, please stop.

Im experienced with this.My daughter was having the same.Also would get so bad she couldnt walk.She turned out to be allergic to cinnamon,ginger,and fish.Everytime she ate this she got them.Aand doctors never guessed allergy to food.And common foods.So id suggest to get it checkec.The older people used to say poisons in the body comes out in the feet.Yes it does.

Could be hundreds of different reasons from footwear to an allergy, see a doctor.

How large? Did you injure yourself somehow? Mosquito bites which itch a lot?

warts can begin this way and have to be burned off go to the doctors to see what they prescribe.
