True, more a lot more then 32 people die in Iraq daily (both American and Iraqi lives are lost)
However, these were kids shot in America on a college campus who were not over seas. two different scenarios. It is always shocks and surprises the American public when a school gets (for lack of a better word) shot up.
But, you are right America needs to wake up! More and more Americans are dying in iraq everday.

It is terribly wrong that our young people (or any young people) are killed anywhere. It matters not if they are victimized by war, by an unbalanced person while at school or in impoverished neighborhoods. All this death is abhorrent. However, it is different when a young person is murdered where they least expect it, sitting in a classroom trying to become a productive member of society. They did not feel they were at risk while troops in a combat zone know they are constantly at risk.
Efforts are being made to memorialize the troops that die in Iraq. There is an excellent memorial in the Women's Service Memorial at Arlington, and websites and even some cooperation from certain broadcast corporations. We should always honor and remember those who pay the highest price for our freedom.
We also should honor victims of any crime and vouch to improve situations so that tragedies like that at VT or what will occur in LA at least once today will cease.

You are not allowed to see the caskets because this is what the people in the military want.
Why should you be allowed to violate the privacy of the family of a fallen soldier?
Why should you be allowed to exploit the death of a servicemember in order to promote your political agenda?
Why should the news media be allowed to exploit the death of a servicemember for money?
If you truly 'support the troops' you should respect the troops wishes that these matter remain private.

Reverse your thinking....What the media did should not have been shown. They trivialized the entire tradgedy. They turned Cho in to a SUPERSTAR for others like him to emulate. The media provided Cho exactly what he wanted...to be noticed.
You had people blaming George Bush for the tragedy, and using the shootings as a platform to speak there agenda....that is very selfish and terrible.

The Pentagon decided after Vietnam that war fought over sees would not be shown on American T.V. To quote the statement - " the dead and the dying tend to tug at Americas heart strings ." What that means is out of sight , out of mind .

If you see no difference in it there is little anyone can say to help you. You are not permitted to exploit the images of caskets coming home.
