No that much.
Three reasons.
1. They use fine ingredients, exotic ones too; but the chefs there in such restaurants subject them to so much processing it's no guarantee the things they mix together will blend and be any better than well-cooked food, just more complicated.
2. The food costs so much I find it hard to enjoy.
3. Usually the meals are elaborate, with too much food or too little; so either way It's too much to eat or else not enough and you're paying for the processes.

Depends on how fancy you mean. If it's so fancy that the servers are snobs, the bill comes to over $200 for 2 people, and the sommelier looks at me funny when I order a beer, then no. Not that fancy.
But I like upscale restaurants (which I guess would be one step under fancy). My hubby doesn't have to wear a tie, I don't have to wear a dress, there's more food on the menu that both of us can eat, and the servers aren't snobs. And the bill only comes to $70-$80. That's the fanciest kind of place I want to dine at.

I'm not too keen on such 'fancy restaurants'...going out to eat is a treat...no matter what the restaurant , but in these 'fancy' ones I find the food doesn't live up to my expectation...and is overly priced.*
I would prefer a homecooked meal over a fancy restaurant anyday*
To each and their own*~

Not at all. I prefer being able to goof off and laugh a little too loud and use the wrong fork if I choose. Fancy restaurants aren't much fun.

I like to eat out when I can afford it, it doesn't have to be fancy, but if I have the money yes, it is nice to do something fancy for a change.

They are OK,but it seems that you aren't able to relax.I prefer a nice restaurant that has good service and priced right.Plus I usually eat out on a spur of the moment.Good question...

The fanciest thing I do is Olive Garden. Other than that it is steak houses and Mexican restaurants. But I live in Texas, go figure.

I love going out to eat. So nice not to have to decide what to cook, shop for stuff then cook it.
Plus with eating out you get a chance to sit down and relax, talk with whoever you are with, look around. people watch. And you get to try lots of dishes that you might not ever think of cooking/attempt to cook at home.
