Christians how do you let God handle everything without trying to do it yourself?

I hear a lot of Christians say this, but in your own words describe how you do this without trying to control the situation? I know we can't pray for answers and needs and then sit back and expect them to appear out of thin air without any effort on our part. Describe examples of how you've put it in God's hands without overdoing things on your end?

First you must have a relationship with God . He has asked
us to pray to Him everyday . Second God gave us his
written Word in the Bible and He does not lie . Third you must
listen to Him . He really knows what is best for us . As
true christian we all sin and fall flat on our faces everyday .
I used to ask the same ? years ago ! and I am glad that He
( GOD ) did not give me everything I asked for . I could go
on about all that I asked of Him , let me tell you this . On a
few of my selfish prayers I would have died a sinner with out
knowing Jesus and went straight to Hell . But by Gods Great
Grace gave me His answer , which over the years as I look
back , really were the best one's for me . I came slowly crawling for Him kicking and screaming at Him . Then God
put it in overdrive for me to know Him . When I started to know
God , Jesus , the Holy Spirit , my love for Them abound .
I have a long way to go and am by God Grace learning more
& more about them everyday !! I never loved until God called
me . Now I know that this world will pass and there is no good
in it . But I live for the one to come , which is God's Kingdom and he has a place for me in it . So with all that said you must have complete Faith & Trust in Him and you will be amazed
at what He is doing in this dieing world . I fear death no longer
I died once in second grade and was revived on the way to the hospital and I died on the battle field and nobody is sure as to how I live with no handicaps . All is that I can say is Thank God that he is delaying this worlds end and saving people like me the sinner . Now my life is for Him . So I'm not going to over do it as you asked . But I will tell you in this life I've had hard times . Now I Trust and Know Him and my life is full with family , happiness , freindships and I Love Him so very much. When I have tough times I know with complete
confendence I can go Him . Not to say that I don't still try things on my own from time to time , because I do and I mess
it all up . But I have A Great High Preist who Forgive me and
His Name is Jesus Christ and thru Him it becomes all good.

You need to just have complete faith in God and tell him you know he is in control. I'll give you an example when I was 12 (I'm not telling you how old I am now) my grandfather got in a serious car accident and was in critical con diction I was afraid he would die. I prayed continually and told God I didn't understand why other people could be OK and he wasn't OK. He did die and I didn't understand why until my grandmother remarried and my step Grampa got saved. Then I realized things don't all ways happen the way you want them too but if you have constant faith "what man or Satan intended for evil God will use for good." I hope this helps

This is something every christian struggles with. I feel that it's has more to do with your attitude than your physical actions. Bottom line, you do only what is absolutely necessary and let God handle the details.

For example, My car died a couple months ago from a blown head gasket. It was still $1600 under a bank lein. First I prayed for wisdom and I ended up buying a newer car. I then got a $1000 income tax refund to make a large balloon payment on the car finally after much praying for God to take care of the problem of how to get out of the car loan and dispose of the car a guy from the shop called me and asked me how much I wanted for it. Since it was in disrepair I asked for only the amount of money I needed to get out of the bank loan. Voila, situation handled. I have what I need and the guy who bought my car has what he needs. Now if I had been trying to control the situation I would have sacrificed paying other bills to get this car paid off faster and probably would have ended up not being able to sell it or get rid of it.

When I have a situation to deal with. I think it out and choose the path I think I need to do. Then I will pray to God and ask for guidance, or help me say the right words, or ask the right questions. I don't think that God is going to say poof and all my problems are gone. I handle them and any divine inspiration I get then great.

There are varied degrees of how much this idea is lived...so I will mention full surrender (one extreme).

How about doing all things for God as a service to God. Acting on God's behalf in all things in life - never for your self or your benefit. As you are acting as if God is working through you and for God, all results are God's as well so expect nothing in return. And then being open to God's support and help. In this situation, there is no doer but God. There is no way to overdo things on your end - because you are not apart of the equation.

Then it is a matter of realizing that God only wants you to act in a way that is loving, truthful, harmonious, joyous, and uniting.

What I mostly do, is a)try not to worry b)give it to God c)when I take it back from God as I do often, I give it back to Him d)tell the Lord I wont do anything about it, but pray and wait on Him.
