Yes, it varies from a jungle to a war zone out there! I think the problem is that most people get taught by driving schools, who teach how to pass the test, and nobody goes on to get supervised experience any more. Anybody working in the professions where public safety is involved (medicine, engineering &c.) can take their "test" ie university degree, but then has to do several years supervised employment before being fully qualified.

Its not just drivers that dont know their Highway Code.
Solicitors dont have the first clue. Im having to defend myself about a car crash. A woman was speeding around a roundabout in the wrong lane, she then drives into me and i am getting the blame!!!!!
Despite the Highway Code being entirely on my side.

I agree,we have just had 3 mini roundabouts put in where i live and its a complete nightmare,some folk have no idea,iv had countless near misses because of the idiots that supposedly have a licence,Then they have the audacity to give you a filthy look lol

No, it's not just you. Most drivers haven't got a clue. I think everyone should have to take the advanced driving test, and the basic one should be resat every three to five years.

I am not surprised by the level of road rage given the level of wreckless driving on our streets and motorways. The drivers responsible think they are lawless.

well thats the thing isn't it you learn the code to pass your test .Once passed you learn to drive lol

Its usually the very young or old.Also middle-aged women too.
