Before you get baptized, you need to repent of all your sins, & then be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ By complete immursion. Then the promise of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for you, then that spirit of God will give you a desire to read the bible with understanding.

Just one of many man-made traditions churches follow. Why baptize by sprinkling or pouring, when the Greek word that baptize comes from means "immerse?" No one in the Bible was sprinkled or poured in baptism. We are buried with Christ by baptism, according to the Bible. If baptism is a burial, how would pouring water suffice? Is a corpse buried if you throw a handful of dirt on it, or does it have to be completely covered? Let's go a step further: most churches today use the formula "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit" when they baptize. But the early church never did this. Throughout the history of the first century church, baptism was always in Jesus' name, not in the three titles of Matthew 28:19. The apostles never repeated those words, why should we? It's not a matter of obeying Jesus over obeying the apostles: Jesus left no written record. We only know what He said because of the apostles. Do you think they would have taken the time to write down Matthew 28:19 if they were going to ignore it or disobey it? Of course not. So clearly, they believed that they were fulfilling the command by baptizing only in the name of Jesus. And if you look at the command carefully, you will see that Jesus does say to use one NAME, not three titles. If you compare this to the Great Commission in Luke, He said that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name. Now compare Acts 2:38... "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." This same formula was used to baptize the Samaritans (Acts chapter 8), the Gentiles (Acts chapter 10, and to re-baptize the disciples of John the Baptist (Acts chapter 19). It was also used when Paul was baptized (Acts 22:16). We are commanded to do all things using the name of Jesus. (Col. 3:17) We are told that only that name can save us. (Acts 4:12) So why do most churches baptize using traditions of men instead of the example of the early church? Edit: We know that infants weren't baptized because all persons were required to believe and repent before baptism. Infants can do neither, nor do they need to. It is also not safe to immerse infants, further evidence they didn't do it. The one "historical" document that claims to be first century, but contradicts the biblical pattern, is the Didache, an obvious fraud from later centuries. It cannot be as old as it claims, because it refers to practices that didn't start until the 3rd or 4th century.

You get baptized to to confirm your faith in God. You read the Bible so that you will know how to live everyday for God. The bible is your set of instructions.

The bible tells us that you must confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord , ask for forgivness of your sins, and thou shall be saved. It does not say you are required to read certain books of the bible although that is good to do it. Baptism is an act ot obedience and remember that the thief on the cross did not have the opportunity to be baptized.

I don't understand your question actually, but if you are saved and baptized, you should want to read the Bible as God's instruction Manuel on how to live life and what is the best way to handle situations. It is not a requirement but a privilege.

That's the first I've heard of it. I was baptized at eight and I didn't have to read any books of the bible (though I did anyway because I was bored with the sermon and the book was there). Which faith do you belong to?

first...your english is pretty bad so I'm not entirely sure exactly what your asking. However, read 2 Timothy 3:14-17 and that should give you an answer. This verse says two things:
First, that the scriptures make you wise for salvation through Chirst, and second that scripture is "God breathed" and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteouness. You need no other book.

When you get baptized, it usually means you have a new desire to learn about God and His word and doing what you think He would want you to do. If you want to please Him, you should read the Bible to understand His reasoning and His law (loosely interpret that word).

Your Mom is right from 2 standpoints, first to know God and do his works, there is no higher calling.
Second it will help with your education. Judging from what you typed here, you live in a foreign land other than America.
I' m giving you this link again because it also has language conversions on it that you can click to change to something other than English. Good Luck with your studies.

If you are dedicating your life to Jesus Christ in Baptism, yes, its a good idea to get a strong working knowledge of the Bible.
That does not mean you need to memorize it; you need to know Christ in order to want
to dedicate yourself to Him, and Jesus Christ is the WORD of God the Father, and that WORD is found in your Bible. Get
into that Book and read slowly, and remember to always be sure you are following the subject and the object of what is being discussed, so that you don't get off-track. God has a plan set up for this generation, and his children need to know what our role is in that plan. Good luck with your studies, and God Bless you and your mum.
