Yes of course, it is passive smoking!!
It is abuse in my opinion...no different than a child sitting on your lap!

The cat needs to pack it's bags and find a new home

Ask your foolish friends if they were to have children, if they'd allow their own child to sit on their lap while they smoked weed? I doubt they would, unless there so far gone.

It's bad for the cat. It's bad for the human. Regardless of people's experiences. It's a mind alerting drug and it's not good for health. Human, cat, dog, or anyone.

I hope you let them know that it's bad for their animals. Have them check yahoo answers sometime.

Good luck =)

Give me a break people! If the cat is sitting contently, he obviously doesnt mind. Although if the object is to get the cat high(maybe he needs it for his nerves, im sure everybody would recommend xanax or valium, but Im sure the cat prefers the natural, non government funding alternative). Any cat owner knows that a cat will not sit around nicely for anthing it doesnt want. It is no more cruel than catnip.

when did u come to my house? i would smoke around my cat for a while, but i didn't want him to get sick. i knew that some places can test ur hair and tell if u have been around pot. so i fig if that can happen to me it could get stuck on his fur and he licks himself all the time it would be like he was eating all that tar or what ever is in there. i don't mind for myself but he couldn't make that choice. so i would not smoke around him or put him in his room and air the place out before he came around. which bummed him out cuz he liked to hang out but he got over it.

Not good for them on several well-known levels from physical health (lungs) to mental health (paranoia). It actually warrants cruelty, except to those who smoke and see no problem with it. For goodness sake, did the cat ask for it? When you're a kid and your folks smoke ciggies, you'll still sit on their lap, cause they are your parents and you know no better. No difference, except p[erhaps we are hoping people actually know better than to subject animals to their bad choices.

..............as it affects your FRIEND so does it affect the cat, but the "effects" of weed is far greater on the cat, because of it's BMI. (B*body M*mass I*index).

So sad and definately warrants you to charge your FRIENDS with animals abuse and cruelty, don't know if you do this in your country??.
In S.Africa they would be known animal offenders and harsh penalties added!!!

I hope your friends do not have children.

Yes, it means they have a stupid owner, and should be rehomed. Unless the owner suffers from glucoma and has a prescription for it, then it's illegal.

Should said foggy headed owner find himself arrested, poor kitty might be fending for himself, and would need a new lap to stay content.

Dumb, just dumb. Poor kitty. Find it a new home.

Yes it affects them. The cat isn't content it is high. Isn't that what most people do after smoking weed, sit there contentedly. Well, same basic concept. Please rescue that cat. They are killing its braincells too.
